Title: The midnight launch to SSBB will be my first midnight Ninty launch.
Post by: HUELEN10 on January 24, 2008, 08:26:52 PM
What should one expect for a launch of these proportions? What should one bring? I was thinking of just bringing a DS, but then I thought of bringing my GCN with a mobile monitor and battery pack to play Melee in line (Even though like all other Smash games, I find it boring has heck). Would that be over doing it? Brawl ONLY launches once, so I better make the most of it. Any suggestions?

As did I. What does this have to do with anything?

Is it true you are only getting it for Dragoon and the main theme?

But yeah, play Mario Kart DS.

No, for the Dragoon and a Spanish Guitar version of that theme. But Mario Kart DS is a good idea!

Get Mario Party DS. That should be fun to play in line.

I think the GCN is over doing it. Just bring a DS with Mario Kart or Sonic or something

There's much more to Brawl than that.

It will be mine too.

I usually bring my PSP or DS to midnight releases. Like when I stayed out in the cold for World of Warcraft.

That mad me off though because we got there are 10:00 to get there early and we're like "Oh guess we can come back later" We go get something to eat and come back to see about 60 people in line. So yeah bring something.

Ok, yeah, but I would recommend bringing a portable DVD player and some good movies.

Just in case you get bored.

My suggestion go with a few freinds so that way if you have to get food or something they will hold you spot.

And bring a really loud speaker system

no way.  brawl won't sell nearly that much, and there's not nearly that amount of hype.  Also, there's no worldwide release.

There won't be a midnight launch here for a few reasons.

1. We don't have a purely videogame store

2. Stores that require more than 10 people to run can't be open on a Sunday (Superstore is the only place i can get it from without driving for an hour)

3. Canada.  takes forever to ship here for some reason. :-\

I don't understand why a low population keeps there from being a mid-night release and those other two reasons don't matter.  Gamestop is run by nerdy 40 year old men.  Also, I'm sure Saturday through Sunday mid-night releases have been done before.

I really don't think an item and a single song is worth it.

If that's really all you want, play the demo at the store and get the song off of pretty much any gaming site.

It launches a couple weeks before Spring Break for me, so I'll likely try to get it around that time.  If not, there's always summer when sales die down.

we never get games on launch date, and IIRC, isn't the launch date a Saturday?  Meaning the store will only open the packaging on the monday of, which I have school on.

I know the one where I preordered mine is having a Brawl tourney when it comes out... winner gets a free game.

Gamestop near me is having a midnight launch.  Plus, I reserved it, so I for sure get it

I reserved it and fully paid for it last summer.  :)
However, going to a midnight lauch might still be fun; I could go with my friends who want to get it but haven't already reserved it.
Of course, I highly doubt there will even be a line... Smash is popular, and the console it's on is impossible to get, yet for some reason, I doubt there will be any lines...
