Title: Where's the love for Balloon Fighter?
Post by: The Riddler on January 25, 2008, 02:38:22 AM
Seems people think his chances are slim.
But why?

For starters, if I remember correctly, it was stated somewhere that he was supposed to be in Melee, but the balloon physics were hard to perfect.

Second, they already (sort of) have a design for him. Ala: (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5f/BalloonFighter.jpg)

Third, take a look at this toy and these sprites.

Notice anything?

No?

"I feel like I've seen that fish before somewhere... Where could it have been?"

There is no mistaking it that it's the same fish, and Sakurai even gives you a hint.

I say the man's chances are pretty high.

Why would the fish be in the Ice Climber stage if Balloon Fighter was playable?
I think Tingle might be in though. He could use the old BF model.

Balloon fighter would have an impossible stage, it's all over water mostly. >_>;

They wouldn't go through all the trouble of designing a fish just to make it an easter egg.

Sure they would :D They made Picto Chat a stage, but there is not PictoChat character.
And the Balloon Fighter could have a stage based off of Balloon Fight. The parts where you fight birds.

They MIGHT!

Serious Sam did stuff like that all the time. They made a miniature version of the last level in Serious Sam: The first encounter, and made it look like it was all made up and stuff. They even put cameras,k with backgrounds and lights. And ALL IT WAS was a secret. THAT WAS IT!

Seriously, that's my thought process regarding Balloon Fighter, too.

All I know of is he has balloons and he flaps his arms. >_>
