Title: Another mode?
Post by: Skye8600 on January 28, 2008, 12:49:47 PM
if you look at the challenges picture on todays update, if you look closely it says that you must exceed 300ft combined SWIM distance.
this probably means that we have to do an extra mode like target test that involves swimming.

Hmmm... now that I think about it, it would be hard to measure 300 meters if it wasn't a STADIUM event... it might be a new one.

maybe you need to press A repeatedley to swim...

So if it's a stadium game, see how far you can swim in a time limit...

In all the old Sonic games he could walk under water; only Tails, and later Knuckles, can swim. And note that Sonic is wearing floaties in Mario and Sonic. Charizard though... maybe his tail is kept above water. >>

Perhaps by swimming they just mean time spent underwater (Jumping udner the surface of the water) or something

That explains why Melee can track how far a character has run/jumped/etc.

It is not a new mode, IMO

True, but this game is called Super Smash Bros Brawl, not Sonic the Hedgehog.  So Sonic can swim if Sakurai feels like make him that way.

Just like how:  TP Zelda can turn into an OoT exclusive character, the sucky Rock Smash attack is lethal, Mewtwo can learn Teleport even though he doesn't learn it in the games, Pikachu learns Skull Bash even though he can't use it in the games, Pikachu can use Thunder Jolt which isn't even a real attack in the games, Captain Olimar is bigger than Kirby, and Dedede is one of the strongest characters.

Well yeah, but the blue Pikmin wasn't said to be immune to water in P&O special moves like the red one is to fire. There would be no reason to take away from the blues special ability unless they all have it now...
