I usually use speakers now. The only time I really use headphones now is if I'm out somewhere.

Headphones, always. I don't have external speakers, or speakers on my monitor. Besides, I don't want my family listening to my music.

Headphones for my iPod, but on my computer, speakers. Music is MUCH better with speakers.

usually my earbuds, because they're high-quality Bose earbuds and all the speakers in my house are pretty bad D:

Am I the only one who can get irritated from earbuds after awhile?

Earbuds. There's just no other way. I don't want anyone else listening to my music, and headphones are too clunky.

They bother the hell out of me and it's usually a pain to get them to actually stay in your ear. But I use them when I'm out, there's no need to use them at home with speakers.

And darn it, another pair of my earbuds just stopped working today.
ugh

I find them annoying to keep them in my ear, in most cases, my ear becomes uncomfortable and has to comform to the shape of the bud, and they're easily broken/stepped on.

Earbuds with the little earhooks.
They never fall out. <3

I can't stand earbuds. I feel like somebody's sticking their fingers in my ears all day.

For my portable, I use Koss Pro 4/AA's. They weigh about 100 pounds, but the sound quality is good and they're nearly bulletproof. The only annoying thing was that I had to cut off the 1/4 phone plug it came with and solder on a 1/8 phone plug. Some audio technicians would probably slap me for that, but almost everything uses 1/8 phone now.

At home, I use my Logitech speakers for MP3's, and a pair of ooold Sanyo speakers for vinyl records. Sound doesn't travel well in my house, so all they really get downstairs is a wee bit of buzzing from the subwoofer.

Yeah my ears start hurting after few hours of having them in.

Earbuds piss me off. Huge-ass headphones and speakers are the only acceptable ways of listening to music.

Headphones piss me off. They don't let me ears breathe. I especially don't like the ones with flat pads against your ears, pushing them to your head. And you also gotta turn up the volume more with headphones, so unless they're a fancy Bose thing or sumtin, they'll be noisy to other people.

Speakers > earbuds > headphoanz.

I find myself having the volume at lower levels with headphones than earbuds, because any actually decent headphones (meaning, massive ones) will block out outside noise far better than wimpy little earbuds. And of course, huge, soft, over-ear headphones are far more comfy than any earbuds. Also, the sound quality doesn't diminish nearly as much at higher levels with over-ear headphones than it does with earbuds, and for the most part, headphones just plain sound better, especially if you're willing to drop down 50 - 60 bucks for a decent pair.

Giant-ass headphones are good, but not for me. I like my iPod to be portable. Every other day I have a computer class in school. Since the work is individual work, the teacher lets us listen to our iPods in the class. It's much more convenient for me to keep an iPod with earbuds in my binder than going to my locker and getting giant ass headphones.

Cancelling out the outer noise is good, but there's some situations that you might need to hear someone.

Earbuds = still ftw. At least, in my opinion.

I just wear my huge-ass headphones around my neck.

But, I have to agree with you on the needing to be able to hear sometimes part

Both, depending on where I am.
