As of 6:00 pm (MY time), there were EXACTLY 300 minuites left until Brawl is handed out to the public, even if it isn't US who gets it. ;)
To commemorate this INCREDIBLY SPIECAL occasion, I want to ask you all to reflect on an era that will most likely go down in ganing history, the Era of Meelee!
Now, you just CAN'T disagree, Meelee was EPIC in pretty much EVERY way! BUT, some people appreciated it in ways that others found dull! Some were SURPRISED at certain additions that others thought were obvious! Some ADORDED the INCREDIBLE graphics leap from the 64 smash, while others couldn't get enough pummeling in with thier new (or OLD) found favorite character!
People of the NSF smash board, I ASK YOU TO REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES! Share your stories with us! We shall listen, and remember what Meelee has done for our lives as gamers!
As of right now, we have 290 minuites till the epic release of Super Smash Brothers Brawl! GET TO STORY TELLING!
Okay... its 7:11 for me ;D
I remember when I first saw the trailer for SSBB.
"Cool, Meta Knight and Wario are in. Wasn't that Pit guy mentioned in Nintendo Power recently? ZSS sounds like a stupid idea. OMG SNAKE!"
And then everyone thought we would have SSBB by the end of 2006... :(
It's Friday, February 1st, at 9:12 AM in Tokyo right now.
It's been out for a day now.
One of the MOST memorable events to happen in meelee was when I heard of a character that was in that I had never heard of. His name was "Mr. Game and Watch", and upon hearing the name, I was VERY confused as to the origin of this character. I then devoted myself to unlocking this character. I spent HOURS ON END playing vs. matches, until I eventually unlocked Mr. Game and Watch.
The figure of this character had me confused even more! He was 2 dimentional, made beeping noises, and moved in a frame by frame motion. I knew IMEDIATLY I would grow to LOVE this character, and I did, eventually having Mr. Game and Watch be my second character to beat Very Hard Classic Mode.

Sorry. :(
I don't even own Melee.
I just rent it. :-X
what can i say too many memorable moments to just name one ;)
all the speculation, and people seeing characters in the cloud of the first SSE video.
Tuppy is correct. Try to keep up. I would lock this thread, but it is to talk about smash memories, so it seems fine.
Anyway, my favorite memory was when, a few years ago, I learned about "Shffling". If I remember correctly, it was on Nsider. One of those "You know you are to into smash when you..." threads. Someone posted saying that when someone makes a slamdunk, you think "Shffl pwnage". I had no clue what this meant, so I decided to google it. It led me to smashwiki (http://www.smashwiki.com), and from there, I was hooked. It truly re-kindled my interest in Smash. And I'm here I am today.

I was so EXCITED! I then tried finding out about EVERY other advanced technique! And with the help of you and google, I found a TON, and FINALLY, TODAY, I beat a tourny smasher! ;D
HARDEST BATTLE I'VE EVER PLAYED, but WELL worth it! YAYZ, I BEAT A TOURNY SMASHER! ;D
That first wavedash REALLY payed off, huh? ;)

What is the name of the tourney smasher? Simply beating someone who goes to tourney's means nothing.

No clue.
And it DOES to me, because I COMPLETELY lost my mojo from the 1 year I stopped playing Meelee due to broken Gamecube. :'(
THIS MEANS I'M BUILDING BACK UP!
Man, that was a VERY tough battle though. He was Marth though, and Dr. Mario is a GREAT counter character for Marth apparently. :)

lol i loved that cloud
and the soeculation what good times
my best memory was the first time I beat The Final Showdown. I used Jiggs (Duh! :P)
I have yet to beat it a second time. XD
my best memory....was my first match.
i killed my brother using Zelda and her b deflection move on Hyrule
it was sweet
Well, let's see.....I used to pwn with YL.....That was when spamming ^B was not annoying....
Another thing......umm.......idk. ;D
I remember I would do nothing but spam Falco's Fire Bird for a long time... that is, until I got pwnt at my first tourney. Now I actually fight instead of spamming (and I don't use Falco at all).
