Title: Nayman's thoughts on first secret update
Post by: Nayrman on February 01, 2008, 05:07:41 AM
???/Ness: Okay, I don't really see the point of the question marks sakurai....that makes ppl want ot see it more. Overall, Ness was another "mah" we all know already and is exactly the same. Update. IT's great he's going to tell us how to unlock him tho!

My only pqoblem with this is that Ness has PK Starstorm instead of PK Jamming.

my problem is that sakurai tried to explain to his best ability why Ness is obviously not a clone. When he pretty much is, with the slightest differences. Otherwise you could say gannondorf in melee wasn't a clone cuz he was heavier, slower, more powerful, and had purple attacks....

I liked the update cause' of the semi De-cloning.

Ness is really for users who like to pwn people right away, while Lucas is for building up damage.

I sort of agree, however, Lucas is the clone IMO.

of course he is, Ness was in since Smash 1...
I thiink they're doing the "falco" effect on many of the clones. Same moves but different effects so they play differently. It's a good idea if you're insanely short on time...but...

Sakurai wasn't. Seriously, the extra stuff that caused the delay obviously wasn't characters. >>

that's what I was getting at. With all this time there should be absolutely no clones, not just as many as there were before X_X;;

Okay, there were six clones in Melee (Falco, Ganondorf, Dr. Mario, Roy, Pichu, and Young Link) and now there are five clones (Falco, Ganondorf, Toon Link, Lucas, and Wolf) so there is one less clone then in Melee :P

Falco has been de-cloned and wolf isn't a clone either IMO.

Actually showing off the differences is a great idea! He is showing HOW they are DECLONED!

Same moves = clone. Sorry.
Falco is decloned because he's different actual moves now

You can't say that. By that logic, everyone that uses a sword is a clone. Everyone that punches or kicks is a clone. It is the varying effects, such as knockback, special effects, damage, and the like that differentiates between them. By saying they are the same, is saying Mario and DK are clones of one another.

I mean specials and smash attacks. Lucas and Ness special and smash attacks are the same with varying levels of difference...but since they are the same motion/action, they are the same moveset wise, thus warranting the clone. Falco's smashes/arials/and the like are different, Lucas and Ness are almost exactly the same

to end this arguement some different attacks with some the same but with slight differences =luigified

Well, I'm fine in seeing Who's in and what there special attack will be, but I REFUSE to see how to unlock them..

I mean, If anything I want that Spoiler a secret from me.

Ness and Lucas definitely Half Clones easily.

At least their final smashs are somewhat different
