It's bloody annoying, but the atmosphere makes me love it.
Especially Cortana/Gravemind's occasional transmissions/taunts, adds to the feel of the level.
"So, you like games do you? So do I."
Thoughts on this level? Most liken it to the Library, although I wouldn't go that far.
I also loved when you find Cortana.
"Got an escape plan?"
"Thought I'd shoot my way out. Mix things up."
"... Just keep your head down, there's two of us in here now... Remember?"
Is this Cortana thing the dreaded next to last level mention in the IGN review?
If so, it actually doesn't sound all that bad.

It makes the Library look like a walk in a park, but it's actually quite fun.
There are parts that are bloody annoying, but with skill and a bit of luck, you can run through it. Just keep an Energy Sword and a Brute Shot handy.
It takes place on High Charity, and your mission is to retrieve Cortana. The level really seems alive, and it feels like it's full circle with the Warthog Run.

My apologies, it's next to last. Warthog Run is after you kill a Rampant AI in the last level.

HOLY CRAP!
RAMPANCY IS BACK!
So the resemblance to The Library, arguably the most hated level in CE, would doom this level to be harshly criticized liked in the IGN review.
Still, I kinda like the concept... this couldn't possibly be a link between Marathon and Halo?
And by the way, is the Warthog run epic and intense like in CE?

Yes, quite epic.
Halo 3 is littered with refernces to Marathon, the most obvious being Rampancy. It's even mentioned in an Act's subtitle.
In fact, there's a theory going around that the Halo series, which has had it's ties to Marathon since the Cortana Letters, is in fact a prequel to to the Marathon trilogy.
its frikin hard too!

My main problem is destroying the reactors. I have no problems doing that, however it's a mad dash to the checkpoint, praying you don't get hit.
I didn't find it hard (I love killing flood), but it was confusing.
You got your post count back :O HOW HOW HOW !!!!!!!!
I hated that level. The new Flood things are no fun.
It was one of the most difficult levels in the game. The Graveminds taunt about "gnawing your bones" once you're deceased kind of made me want to escape rather quickly. The fact that he spoke to you through the flood was slightly unsettling as well.
What is this Marathon people keep mentioning?
Ugh, I'm stuck on that dang level. I'm playing on legendary difficulty as well. Stupid Cortana and her level. >:(
I don't see how it's so hard, I went through it pretty quick. I love flood levels. :P
Hah, my thoughts exactly. Although playing it with the lights off at two A.M. after getting two hours of sleep the previous night, adds to the creepy awesomeness.
Oh yeah, last time I really got in to playing, I was High on caffeine, went outside at 3:00 am and started a little fire with two other guys. I couldn't get to sleep, I was so jacked up with adrenaline from the game and caffeine.

This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon_Trilogy)
It's Bungie's first science fiction epic.
I think cortana level should be illegal it stops you every 2 seconds so you can hear this guy talk. REALLY ANNOYING !
I liked it too, though... I got disoriented in it easily. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v348/ME868/ugly.gif)
