I just wiki'd it. They were bought by Acclaim Games.

Retro's president had worked with Acclaim during the turok games production.

WAIT! There's more.

The president left Retro in 2000 when a series of embarrassing photos were released on the internet.

I say it TUR-OK.

I'm glad Acclaim is dead. The only good games they made were the Turok games.

The very ones. The ones who disappointed millions with Metroid Prime 3 only being 8 hours long for a regular gamer. :|

Wait! *calculates* if its only 8 hrs. for a regular, that makes it 4 for a super, and 2 hrs. 45 min for an ultra. Wow. I almost bought MP3 instead of Turok. Lucky me.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game by any means. Just way too easy and short. Voice acting is nice though.

I heard it hard to aim.

I also heard it's more fun to kill people with a knife than with a gun.

I played the demo and it is great, though.

The first Turok was actually kind of lame, looking back on it now. Turok 2 was much better. I've never played 3 or Rage Wars.

Evolution was okay, but I expected a lot more than I got out of it.

Ok.  I've played the demo also, and one of the first things I noticed was how sensitive the look sensitivity was right off the bat.  In most console shooters it's defaulted at about 3 or 4, in the Turok demo it felt more like about 7 or 8.
