Title: Does Sakurai listen to us?*SPOILERS*
Post by: tibar7 on February 21, 2008, 07:15:34 PM
about the final roster. many american wanted characters like krystal and ridley apparently never had a chance. still, it seems that all the popular characters in Japan debuted as playables in the end. So does that mean that Sakurai doesn't par attention to us? I realize sonic is in cuz we wanted him, but i feel embarrrassed that he  is the only one representing us. Either Sakurai doesn't care what us Americans want, or he takes too much credit for what he does like the final roster. According to Brawl central, he said in an interview that the roster had more characters and third parites than we could imagine.

Mack Listens, he listens to the words of his fathers, use spoiler warnings!

where did that red thing come from? and why would i need to use a spoiler tag if i didn't mention any hidden characters except for sonic (who is revealed on the Dojo)?

I editted it. Why? Because you tell of the characters that aren't in, and elude to other things.

No, he doesn't listen to us.

No, he doesn't.

If Americans had their way, there would be 50 characters, a Harddrive for Wii, downloadable content, voice chat, and no Friend codes.

and it would be an incredible game as a result.

currently, the game doesn't look very spectacular.

He listens.

And then he realizes, "How the hell am I going to put a metal dragon in brawl that's X3 everyone's size? Impossible!"
And then he throws it out, because you guys are stupid thinking Ridley is going to get in. -_-

it would be kinda hard, he spends most of his time in Japan, apparently what you guys fail to realize is what we want and what japan gamers want is pretty different.  I for one think the roster is good, its not too much, coulda been bigger but it isnt, and Im over it, its coming out really soon, and I'm really looking foreward to it.

sakurai probably thought Ridley was too big. But still, he put Charzard (big) in. Maybe he thought Ridley was only meant to be a boss.

he downsized bowser considerably. he couldve pulled it off with brawl with Ridley....

what?

look at the melee intro.  ridley is samus' size.  bowser is considerably bigger than samus.  ridley would have worked.

America wanted Sonic more than Japan?

No, I don't think he really cares what we think. He knows that every person with a Wii will buy this game anyway, whether or not their favorite character is in.

You guys have to admit that Ridley is more of choice as a boss than a playable.  They had the stage of the BOSS battle and the BOSS music.  I thought Ridley would be a guarantee as playable but not all dreams come true.  And I believe Sakurai said this quote in an interview after discussing the roster.  "Not All Nintendo Fans Will Be Happy."

You're making America look superior. No one likes Americans for a reason. Look at the show "The Amazing Race". People view Americans as fatties who shove their way through crowds and stuff. Makes us look greedy and such.

Ridley, Geno & Krystal were some of the most wanted characters in JAPAN.

it's not just americans he's ignoring, it's most of the userbase.  he decided who would be in on his lonesome.

and he left out Geno & Ridley, two of the most requested characters.  Also Mewtwo and Roy, both of which had large followings (especially mewtwo).

He chose the characters that would make the biggest splashes.  just because someone says something doesn't mean that they're telling the truth, mate.

ROB and Ice Climbers (who weren't important at all before Melee) got in while Ray 01, Bowser Jr., Krystal, Ridley, and a Square-Enix rep didn't.  That should be all the evidence you need to realize that this isn't what we want, it's not what Japan wants, and it's not what Europe wants:  IT'S WHAT SAKURAI WANTS.
