Disc and Disk are two different things.
This is a Disk. Spelled D-I-S-K. It is short for Diskette.

So no, you do not put a disk into your DVD player, you put in a disc.

I've always thought those 'diskettes' were called floppys. :P

They sound the same, doesn't make a difference to me.
I usually say disk more than disc, but people get what I mean.

well, floppies are obsolete now so it should be interchangeable.
I prefer the spelling of "disk". :D
