edit #3 for some reason I can only not paste directly into ms paint.I kinda remember not being able to paste directly into paint ever even on xp so i guess my problem is fixed :D!!!!!!!!!! Unless you can paste directly into paint but whatever.

well i highlighted the sprite rightclicked and clicked copy...so my guesss is i did copy

ive already tried all the shortcuts for both copy and paste. Still doesn't work I've tried draggy and dropping it nope. and id really not like having to save the images since I've already got so many random files on my computer i don't need anymore
just found something weird, I'm allowed to copy and paste all I want in the pain document I have open but i can't paste from the web page into paint. Did they change something in vista paint code so you can't paste directly from a web page or something? but at leat i know the entire copy paste thing isn't broke

i can but i'm lazy and still id like to get it fixed since i write all my reports with copy and paste.

btw blazeiken everything you suggest to me always manages to work. No matter the problem. care to suggest something that is totally random that might just fix it?
plz someone help me!!! I've reduced it down to copy and paste works fine in the same window but if i try to copy and paste something from one window to another paste doesn't even become an option. I want to get this to work. I've tried all the shortcuts in th book, did a system restore to see if todays update did anything and nothing I can't figure it out someone help me!!!
ur using Windows XP? ive had that happen to meh b4. restart ur computer, then itll work

Besides the print screen?
I've had this problem before, most you can do is seeing if restarting fixes it.
Restarting fixes mostly everything for some stupid reason.

i restarted last night and did a system restore since google searchs seemed to yield that as a good fix but nothing doing. Can your clipboard really break? I mean it's not broke more so it won't let take stuff from one window to another which just so happens to be the main point of copy and paste.
