Welcome to the SSBB Tournament! This tournament will be a 16 man tournament starting as early as tomorrow, 4-11-08, morning, and ending Midnight pacific time, 4-12-08. The rules are as follows.

Information:

-Brackets to be posted!
-Verification thread to be posted!
-Must post your verification by 8PM Pacific time, 4-12-08

-Time which brackets must be completed by:
Round 1: 9:00Pm Pacific Time 4-12-08
Round 2: 10:00Pm Pacific Time 4-12-08
Round 3: 11:00pm Pacific Time 4-12-08
Finals: Midnight Pacific Time 4-12-08

-When the brackets and verification thread are both posted, you are welcome to begin your matches as soon as you verify, giving you quite a while to finish your matches. When you finish your match, post here, and I will update the brackets accordingly, you do not have to wait for everyone, if your next round opponent has finished their match, you can start your match with them at anytime, as long as it is completed before the final time posted above.

-PRIZE: A special surprise from Mackormoses, and a customs sig, with your name, and a brawl character of your choice.

Rules:

-How the tourney will work-

-The day of the tournament I will post a link here to a sign in thread. In this thread you will post your name, friend code, and a way to contact you (IE: email, IM screenname, ext.) this confirms you for the competition. If you do not post in this thread by the time stated above then you will be disqualified, and your matches will count as a loss, meaning your opponent will move on.

-Use what ever is necessary to contact your opponent, such as AIM, PM's, other instant messaging,  or chatrooms. Brackets will be posted on Friday 4-11-08, in the second post of this thread.  Above the brackets will be the link to the confirmation thread.

- You will have 1 Hour to complete each matchup, the exact time will be posted above. Please have the loser report the match by posting the result in this thread, this post should include so&so Vs so&so, winner=Whoever. If you have any disputes or questions please pm me or post here. My AIM is icefire128, and i will be available there most of the time. If you can not get a hold of your opponent, please save any attempts to do so, and the win will be given to you, such as an IM he didnt respond to, or a PM.

Best 2 out of 3 matches (first to win two matches wins)
3 Stock
No time limit
Items off (includes Smash Balls)
Character Selection is double-blind (meaning neither player sees who the other picks)

In each game both characters will pick the stage they wish to play, and allow the game to decide for them. (as done with standard online stage selection) Stage legality up to code of the smashboard backrooms.

Backups:

-How the backups will work is, you will be PM'ed if you are needed. If someone does not verify that they are going to be in the competition by the time posted above, and are disqualified, then you will fill in for them. If you do not respond to the PM, or post here, saying you will fill in by the time the round is over, the remaining contestant will move on to the next round, and it will count as their win. If both people in one bracket are disqualified, then we will replace them with the next backups on this list, if they dont reply, then we will pm the following people on the list, and the first to reply will automatically move on.

That is one completely separate tournament, and I stood by allowing as many as three separate tournaments on this board. This would be one, KG's another, and anyone else that can effectively run one may as well. Not everyone gets the chance/may be intimidated/whatever with KG's tourneys.

As it is, providing each tourney offers something new, I will charter the rights to another. Also note that this was approved before KG's, meaning, it has = rights.

Judging spots are all filled, but we can never have enough judges so i will add you as a 4th, back up judge.

I live in Canada. but low enough so that lag isnt much of a problem (Im so far south in canada that if you look at a map the boarder actully goes around where I live) Im on the west coast. Can I still enter?

@HTA: It is a one day event, I hope Evil can manage.......I am curious to see if this will go smoother than KG's.

After that, depending on which one works best, that will be the new standard for tourneys. Consider this a test of one day tourney play :P

In the case of not having enough players by this Thursday what do you think we should do? Postpone it?

i think it all depends on how many people we have. if we have 8 people, for example, that will not really be enough. 3 matches isnt gona be that fun to be honest, so 0-8 people lets postpone it.. but if we have around 12 people then lets just have it anyways. around 9-12, well i say just do what you feel like, besides its all about fun so =]

I think if there are under 12 then i will just postpone it until 4-26-08, due to the fact there is not going to be enough for east coast as it it...

Why not just combine the east and west coast. I've played HTA before (hes south east and Im north west) and the Lag really wasnt enough to change the out come of the match.

The only problem is that if you are across the country, and one of your internet connections isnt great the lag will be awful...

If i combine them, there will only be 11 ppl signed up, with no backups or anything. what i could do is combine them, and push the tourney back a week or 2, that way we could have enough sign ups for a one 16 man tourney with some backups.

Why not just get the judges to play, I don't see why you need judges, Dawei and I enforce rules around here, Govnah.

Good fights Flame. Thats the first time for me in any tourney match I've been in for Brawl that went into the 3rd match. Damn G&Ws hammer though that cost me our second match. Dieing at 0% FTL. Anyway nice try. You Spam your side B too much as Pit. Yes its a nice move (I would know I main him) but its real easy to get out of and counter.

Lol yeah I do tend to do stupid stuff when it comes to Pits side B or A repeated attack (like run into them). I never have been too good at ditto matches.

Okay, Sabby can have the win. We didn't actually finish. I just left cause the lag was unbearable. I'm very impatient, and watching Pit and Pikachu glare at each other did not help.

summary of me and T_L's match: started out good, then halfway into our first match crazy lag kicks in, crazy bad lag stays for a minute and goes back to normal for 30 seconds, that happens over and over until we finish match 1, i won. match 2. basically the lag was so bad it was pika and pit standing at the edges looking at each other listening to k.k slider while the 3 second countdown goes for 5 minutes, connection lost, T_L gave me the win (thx :)), and we both got to listen to go k.k rider for 5 minutes, fun times :)

If he isnt here in 15 minutes i will have to disqualify him, because it is likely he wont come back soon, also in a previous tournament i was in with him, he misteriously disapeared for hours, so if he does not come back in the immediate future he will be DQ'ed.

Notice:

I originally intended this tournament to be over at 2pm today. But i made a typo which said PM instead of AM for the sign in time, which meant i had to push back the tournament to late tonight. I intended for the matches to be done today, as you had all day yesterday and all day today to do just a few matches.

I am hereby ending round one, and postponing the rest of the tournament until tomorro. You are able to continue your matches if you want to tonight, but they do not have to be completed until 1PM tomorro (pacific time).

The only other option after 1pm, is for mackormoses to take over this tournament as at 1 pm i will not be able to do so.

Bracket 7-dynomite Vs Hector_the_Axe, you must complete this, and the rest of the tournament by 1pm tomorro (pacific time), this is the only round one match that has not been completed.

When is the deadline for round 2?

even the semi-finals...... i can probably get round 2 done tonight but tomorrow morning i'll be doing homework most of the morning and might not be done with it to play the semi-finals by 1 PM........ that is if i make it to the semi-finals <_<

The only reason i had him continue is because u werent around, but looking at the facts you should not be DQ'd, and if you read my other post i just made, you are back in the competition, EXACTLY WHY I WANTED JUDGES, this is why i wanted to postpone the tourney altogether and wait until we had more sign ups

Its no problem.  Its partly my fault anyway.  But i doubt he is going to do anything, so might want to just move on.
