Title: The OFFICIAL (Yes, official) SSBB Glitch Experiment thread! *Possible spoilers*
Post by: Shujinco2 on April 07, 2008, 01:22:12 PM
NOTE:This thread is unfinished.
And THIS time, it's going to work, dang it! >:(

Well, anyway, I have seen a LOT of glitches in Brawl already. It's quite facinating, really! :D (At least to me.) And I thought that there are PLENTY more glitches to find! That combined with my obsession with glitches forced me to make a Brawl Glitch expiriment thread, in the hopes of finding a super awesome glitch worthy of the gaming gods! (And before anyone else, so we can paten it and say it's ours. >:D )

I will appreciate EVERY BIT of help I can recive, as usual, for the lack of a wii would hinder my progress if I were the only one doing it. So feel free to join in the glitch hunt! ^_^

The Glitch List:

Ice Climbers Iceberg Shrink glitch:

Possibility 1:

You can shrink the Ice-claimber's FS, under special circumstance. Got a 'motion-sensor mine' item? Throw it at the top of the glacier. It will bounce off of it, pushing it down a little bit each time. It just falls up and down repeatedly, and reasonably quickly, and pushes it a bit each time. I haven't tested to see if it lowers the hit box, but I think it does. If it doesn't, then this gains use as a trap which can trick people with an invisible hitbox. Otherwise, it's just a useless piece of info. By -DNK2-

Ganon's/C. Falcon's Uber Jump:

Possibility 1:

So, turns out you can give Ganon a super-jump that can reach the top of stages you design as very large, from the bottom. Unfortunately, it's based on designed stages. If you use one of the springs that are used in stage making, and press Down-B at the very instant you hit it, Ganon does an uber jump. This does NOT work with the spring item. However, it does work with Captain Falcon too, so if you're a big custom stage person, this can be a useful tactic. By -DNK2-

Aero Port fallthrough glitch:

Possibility 1:

I was using Falco in Aero Port Dive, or whatever it's called, and while the platforms were decending, I was using his A move.  The button was held down.  When the platforms disappeared, Falco somehow fell through the road of the course!  Even if the road is a fall-through floor (I don't think it is), I was not holding down or anything. By Lotos

Same color glitch:

Possibility 1:

I had two Dark Pit's (not the lighter or darker versions, either). My sister chose the character and costume regularly, and I got it through Random. By Mithos

Mushroomy Kingdom fallthrough glitch:

Possibility 1:

When you use the Ice Climbers's FS in Mushroomy Kingdom and if you're about to be crushed by a block in front of you because of the iceberg, you will pass through the floor and you will fall! By Wiiboychris

Never Landing Pikmin:

Possibility 1:

When playing as Olimar on a  custom stage (the futuristic type), if you throw pikmin at the base of the platform part that looks like this:

----\
       \
      |
      |
      |
      |
      |
       \

(It's one of the special pieces)
The pikmin spin and spin, and never land. They only go away when you die. By Shaleblade

I'm in!  ;D

I think it's a great idea to start already; if we wait until everyone is bored with Brawl, we'll have serious competition, but since we're starting early, it shouldn't be too much of a rush.

Also, something we could do that would definately solve a lot:

We could find out why some replays screw up, and what happens to make them screw up. Hopefully, we could find out something that makes it happen consistantly, and for those who really care about their replays, we would have a way to warn them about what NOT to do to get a good replay.

Just an idea.

Anyways, I'm a glitcher too, so if you can come up with anything else that might make a glitch, you can count me in.  ;)

But... I can't be on until Friday. I'll start the FS experiments then, if they aren't already tried by then.

YOu can pm me with the name of the user that officialised this, and I will gladly allow it to carry on :)

As it is, try using Zelda's FS on the Chimera, I have always wanted to see what would happen.

All Final Smash experiments should in theory be debunked since your character is automatically returned to normal state once activated.

the arrow goes right through it, nothing happens, the only way to "kill" the chimera is by making it fall(by using the breakable floor)

I did a few FS experiments in special brawl. The only change for size is in fact the size. Tiny Landmasters are proper size. :D Havent tried the others.

Results:

wario man goes back to being normal sized when wario uses the FS, regardless of big or small.  he can use a mushroom afterwards though, and it produces massive lulz when combined with a fully charged waft.

you won't find glitches in SSBB, and the FS testing isn't even a good place to start. o_O

anything really noteable is found already (jiggs FS glitch, Yoshi combined with it, etc).

you'd be better off focusing on a single player game of some sort.

also, Yoshi, despite being classified as "heavy", can basically walk all the way across the stages with the updrafts of air (he has basically no downward movement while on an upward draft).

I found an FS glitch by accident XD Here is a general summary.

"You can shrink the Ice-claimber's FS, under special circumstance. Got a 'motion-sensor mine' item? Throw it at the top of the glacier. It will bounce off of it, pushing it down a little bit each time. It just falls up and down repeatedly, and reasonably quickly, and pushes it a bit each time. I can't video it, and it may have been already discovered. Just figured I'd tell

Oh, and in case anyone wondered, it does push it down lower at an exponential rate, based on the number of mines you have, so it's pretty funny in Training. Testing it in training, I put it below FD reasonably quickly."

At everybody: Busy, so I will add you all later.

At Mack: I did. I'm THAT awesome. (Or if Star would do it. ^_^)

At Wiino: Screwed up replays huh?

At DN2K: Sounds cool!

At Cuccoguy: What about size differances with Pokemon Trainer's FS? Do they ALL grow big/small or something?

Don't think you could, unless you had a projectile weapon with infinite ammo and possible rapid fire that effected items the same way the super scope bullets did.

*Click* IDEA!

Who said we only needed an infinite amount of bullets within only 1 super scope!

If we had an infinite supply of super scopes, that would equal an infinite amount of bullets!

All we have to do is set ourselves up accordingly, in training mode, spawn a super scope, use all it's bullets, throwit, and spawn another.

Though, I don't know what the pause would do to the two fox/wolfs. :-\

Remember how DN2K/Phantom found out that throwing a motion sensing mine at the Ice Climber's Iceberg would push it down? Well I just found out that when Dr. Wright comes out of an AT and he summons the building, the Iceberg also gets pushed down.

I wonder what else can push the Iceberg down?
Has anyone tried throwing a Pokeball at it? Perhaps Metagross and other Pokemon (I think that's the name) can push it down even more?

I dunno if a pokeball can. I am naming things the FS-maker himself can throw. The enemy can too, to the same effect, but I think they can attack it to make it smaller. However, My idea is damageless :P

Anyways, I'll be working on my next couple of tricks. Btw, I'm updating the ganondorf uber kick. It does NOT work with other characters using the Down-A with equal timing. I haven't checked Captain Falcon yet, but he has the same attack, so it should work...

Oh yeah, one think you need to add to the glitch list, pronto:

God Tier Dedede. If you don't know what that is, search it on youtube.

Maybe we can use him for that "infinate supply of super scopes" if we can find out how to change the capsule into a super scope instead of a Dragoon Piece, if possible. Just an idea...

Just throwing Pokeballs won't work.

However, I still want to see if Metagross can lower the Iceberg.

Also, I tried the motion-sensor mine trick. That was pretty cool.

I would like to report a glitch, if that's all right. :D Well here's the deal. I was in Delfino Plaza, playing as pokemon trainer fighting a ganondork Imeanganondorf. Anyways, he got his final smash and used it. The player who was ganondorf paused RIGHT when ganon was off screen (when he is just running past the KO area). Then, just then, the pause focused on a building model of ganondorf where he used the FS. You know, the bulding model? The posistion the character is in when you are working on them? With arms straight out to the right and left, legs straight and unbent? Ya, that pose. I even have pictures to prove it (cuz it was paused right when it happened, lucky me :P ) but, it would be a while till I could get it off the wii, if not ever. :S

He kinda looked like this

Alright, UPDATED! :)

So, is anybody going to get going on those FS glitches?

Also, I want to find out EXACTLY what "Screwed up replays" are. What exactly HAPPENS?

Man, I wish I had a wii & Brawl. :(

You can see it on youtube.

Your character sometimes randomly just walks off the stage, and may cause you to lose a match, even though you won. O_O

DO NOT stay under the stage for a few inches in Glacial Peak and Warioware. Why?

Glacial Peak: When the mountain slides and you're a little under the stage out of reach of the edge, you'll be underneath the mountain itself and unable to recover. Screw you global warming.

Warioware: Same as Glacial Peak, but when a Microgame starts.

I guess, tomorrow, I'll research the God Tier Dedede, and learn and practice doing it, and try to get other items with it.

I think we should finish off those FS glitches. Most of them are actually pretty easy to do! :)

Also, maybe we should try the Same Color Glitch. We got one way, now let's see if the Meelee version works, and let's see if it works with 3 and 4 players as well! :)

I believe something contradicts that. Sakurai said something in the Brawl Trivia.

Alright, no, it won't.

Tried it in training, if Snake is Smash-ified, no more than two dragoon parts will appear. If you spawn all three Dragoon parts, then a Smash Ball, the Dragoon parts will disappear, and vice versa. And straight from Brawl Trivia.

"Once all three Dragoon Parts appear on screen, no Smash Balls will appear until you?ve removed them from play."

Hey, I found a new glitch!

When playing as Olimar on a  custom stage (the futuristic type), if you throw pikmin at the base of the platform part that looks like this:

----\
       \
      |
      |
      |
      |
      |
       \

(It's one of the special pieces)
The pikmin spin and spin, and never land. They only go away when you die.

Here's a glitch my friend found.  If you're fighting on Bridge of Eldin, and are Jigglypuff, and break the smash ball, wait until the brige starts to come back.  Right as the portal appears, go into the gap and use the final smash.  Perfomed at the right time, and you will be Perma-giga Jiggly!

There are also various glitches with moving platforms that go up and down on stage builder.  Like the teleport one and the invisible wall one.  I might need to get video to do so, but I don't have good enough of a camera!

Another short custom glitch. If you're in a box on a custom stage with at least one pair of diagonal boxes (Connected by corners only), at around 300%, if smashing and bouncing enough, you can squeeze through, meaning cage-fights with uneven floors CAN end.

You apparently aren't very familiar with glitches! ;)

You see, glitches bypass the physics (or other, in some cases.) of the game. A floor that was previously un-pass-through-able, because of a glitch, makes that un-pass-through-able floor now pass-through-able!

Also, glitches are found in a VERY versitile arrangement of events, from doing something BEFORE your actually supposed to do it, walking in a certain way, throwing something at a certain other something, doing something while trying to do something else, or even getting to a certain spot/level! Some of the simpilist glitches soetimes have the most complex way of doing it, and vice versa!

So I don't want to hear a result proving it wrong after ONE trial! That's just not how expirimentation works!

The pikmin spin and spin, and never land. They only go away when you die.
Sorry I couldn't give better detail D:.
They landed on it and came back to me.

Upload the stage it happened on and we'll test it out.
Hmm.
Did you have the 2X2 cube right below it (so it seems like a continuation)?

Go to spear pillar, spawn some smart bombs, and get the smash ball with one of the Links. When a beam comes, use the FS right that second. Your opponent is slashed, beamed, and blown up, getting like 500 combos. :)

And you can jump through custom stage blocks, but it has to be a precise jump. It's kinda old.

I got one. :P

On the Bridge of Eldin, play as Olimar. Let the riding dude(forget his name, King something...) throw a bomb and blow the middle up. Then wait for it to start to form. Then jump down where the bridge would be. When it comes back, you will be bounced back to the top, but your Pikmin will sometimes be at the bottom. They still follow you, but from the other side of the bridge. And sometimes they just randomly fall. :P
