Do you mean like taking someone else's pic, making minor edits, then calling it your own?  I know this probably a very nooby question but i new to computer art so i just want to know...

to me i think ripping cd's.

Ripping is when you go to a game and somehow have it on the computer, you take something out of the pic and put it on a sheet, making no change whatsoever (besides the background parts)
