Flight of the Conchords (folk comedy...absolutely hilarious!)
Jonathan Coulton (also folk comedy but songs more about random stuff like Ikea and shop vacs...and Code Monkeys...and still being alive...)

I listen to various Rock... but its hard to really recommend much.
Rise Against is decent, and SoaD is fun to listen to.
I'd reccommend by the pooploads, but I'm not sure what you're open to.
