For me, maybe Zelda II: Link's Adventure. Just replace the life with hearts, the magic with the magic meter, and take out the experience stuff. I didn't really like that part.
Earthbound I'm not sure if its too old though (remember all my games EX:Wii Run on emulators)
Metroid 2
I don't know if it's old enough, but I'd love to see Battletanx: Gloal Assault remade. It could be so realistic.
Also, if that's not old enough, Zelda 2.
Chrono Trigger. One of my favorite RPG ever.
Duck Hunt.
Pong. That would be the best game remake ever! ::)
Really it would be cool if they remade Earthbound because I never got to play the first ones for the NES. :(
Ice Hockey (NES).
It was so fun back in the day, and I love it on Virtual Console, but a reamke would be awesommme.
Earth bound
Pokemon Snap.
Actually make a Pokemon Snap 2 with more than 73 pokemon. :|
Super Mario RPG, definitely.
Paper Mario =/= SMRPG.

Paper Mario =/= SMRPG.
I was going to say that, but then I realized that it wouldn't ever be as good since Square was alot better in 1995 than they are now.
Metroid 2.
SMRPG wouldn't be as good as it was remade. It isn't a game that stands the test of time, for sure.
but SMRPG would be nice to have ported.

Metroid 2
Beat me to it.
Aside from the new Fire Emblem, I want Super Mario RPG. So much fun...and with 3D graphics (Or in the DS's case, 2.5D.) it would be a blast (But keep Culex in there, because he reminds me of Kefka, and add another secret boss.)!
Super Mario Bros- Wait...
Also:
Rare coming back and doing Goldeneye 007 - for Wii.
plzzzzzzzzz ;-;
If Sega would be so kind as to go back to Shining Force and remake it so that it's not so boring, that would be nice.
Majora's mask.
With better graphics and more replay value. :)
Azure Dreams
LOZ
LOZ: Adventure of Link
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Chrystal (Like how they did LG and FR)
pokemon snap
Starfox 64
Legend of Dragoon
Twisted Metal 1-small brawl
also Kirby's Dream Land 1, 2, Donkey Kong Land 1, 2, and 3, Mario/Wario Lands, boy a lot of Gameboy games had "land" in the title
one more Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters
Pilotwings 64, Super Mario RPG, Earthbound.
Oh wait, that's my list for most wanted Virtual Console games.
...
Meh, it fits both ways. :)

they did remake Pong on the PC/PS1

Majora's mask.
With better graphics and more replay value. :)
With harder bosses and insanely hard optional dungeons.
Metroid 2 NEEDS a remake.

Remake or not.
By that you mean Mother 3 NEEDS to come to North America?
And technically, some guy is trying to remake Metroid 2.

Nintendo better not send a cease and desist.
pokemanz gold/silver
I would LOVE to have a Pokemon G/S/C remake (And mabe have two options when you start the game, to play the game just like how it was when it came out, same graphics and music and everything, but without the battery dying... And to start a newer version :))
That, or Majoras Mask ;D
Majora's Mask.
I feel that the game didn't get the fans it deserved. It's my vote for best Zelda game.
If not old enough....well, I haven't played any of those timeless classics on NES or SNES. >_>

Or two different DS cards with a GBA cart to insert the "old" card into the bottom to transfer those Pok?mon to the newer version.
I also agree with Pok?mon Snap and Duck Hunt.
A remake of Pokemon Snap isn't enough. It needs to be a pretty much completely different game. No being restricted to a track is step 1.
Step 2 is making a giant overworld instead of different separate levels.
Step 3 is making that overworld the Animal Crossing style...the times of day and days of the week/month/year play a role on how the world changes and what Pokemon or people are seen.
Step 4 is making a gigantic roster of Pokemon to take pictures of...maybe even all of them.
Step 5 is the extra cool camera gear. Tripods, special lenses, etc. Maybe you could get money for your pictures and use the money to buy the extra gear...maybe even some gear that's necessary to access parts of the overworld that is blocked at first. Legendary Pokemon pictures could be worth lots of cash. That crazy thing you rode in for the original Pokemon Snap could still be used, but not on a track. Maybe you could get gear for that thing too.
Pokemon Snap was a good idea, but it really needed more options.
I agree with Kaz that it should be free roam and have EVERY POKEMON EVER.
Mixing in a little of Pokemon Channel and Hey You Pikachu! (without the crappy mic) wouldn't be a bad idea either.
And every Nintendo system after the N64 had a built in clock, so why not use it?
I would love to see any of the Phantasy Star games remade. Especially , even though its not that old, Phantasy Star online episodes I & II, the greatest RPG ever!!!
