Title: What exactly is Jell-o?
Post by: Kilroy on April 11, 2008, 06:15:18 PM
It seems like it's supposed to be a snack food, but it quenches my thirst rather than squelches my hunger.

It's a flavored snack food made from powdered gelatin (which is made from collagen, which is fat from connective tissue) and flavors/sugar and is meant to be boiled in water, chilled in a refrigerator, and cut into cubes.

I consider it food, but I guess I'd rather drink it than eat it.

It's a brand.

The end.
"The brand's popularity has led to its becoming a generic term for gelatin dessert across the US and Canada...."

That's from Wikipedia. Because honestly, who eats non-Jello brand gelatin?

We sometimes eat the gelatin formed from beef or pork stock.  It's really delicious with a little soy sauce and vinegar, and some garlic and scallions.

It's a snack. Now the two choices are tied! Yay! ^_^

It has never quenched my thirst. Not once! In fact, I always DRINK something when eating it if I'm really thirsty.
