Post by: Shaleblade on April 13, 2008, 06:26:59 AM
So, I go to Steam to download Portal.
I meet all the sys. Requirements shown, ect.
After purchasing the game, downloading it...
It tells me my graphics card is not up-to-date.

I MET AND BYPASSED THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
WTFWTFWTF
dangit, now I can't play.

EDIT: Yeah, it turned out that graphics card is too old :<.

Maybe your graphics card has the specs, but it's still apparently obsolete.

Although...I don't think those system requirements are really accurate.  I tried playing Portal on a computer with a gig of RAM and a decent processor and it it kept freezing like crazy.  It only works well on my laptop with 2GB RAM and a dual-core processor.  And I'm pretty sure the graphics cards are similar.
