Title: very insteresting point on why the forums closed
Post by: JOSEGRANADOS95 on October 01, 2007, 06:24:45 PM
as you see, many people kept creating alt accounts, which would cost nintnedo money to keep the forums and site up and running, now we get the forums closed, before the online updtae for brawl was announced, so that may have been a reason why, another point is:

noa andy closing the forums, which lead to refugees go to other forums, to confess what alt accounts they made, so that when he opens the fourms again (which however it is a very low chance for it to happen) so that they get rid of the alt accounts and save money

discuss

2 reasons.
1.Nintendo is obviously cutting down on their maketing budget. (Cancelling Camp Hyrule, Closing the forums, putting NP up for sale.)
2.It simply cost money. $1500 a month,actually. ;)

I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost them money when a member signs up.

Meh, I've openly stated some of my alts on there.  Also, when my login name for an alt is the same as my main login name but followed by sequential numbers, it's obvious in their database what I did. ~_^

Why would people making accounts cost them money/
more alts mean more moderation. more moderation means more money teacher;

I think the closing is very much connected by NP's switching to Future, but...it's just a theory.

Moderation does not cost money. The moderating team gets payed in no way.
