So earlier today, I was listening to my iPod, when my headphones got stuck in one of my car's shoulder things, and when I finally pulled the headphone cord out, they're all messed up. No vocals, echo, etc., so I have to get a new pair. :( Ironically, on songs like Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, I can't hear anything but the vocals, and on other songs, I can hear the backup singers instead of the main singers.
If it's those earbuds that come with the thing, you should be cheering.
If not, that sucks. :(

I think the iPod headphones broke a week or so after I got the iPod.
And no, these were great Philips around-ear headphones. Exceptional quality for 15 bucks. My only complaint is that everyone can hear what you're listening to, it isn't a noise-canceling set.
The car apparently hates your headphones. >:
How have you been mistreating your car, Riosan?

I give it a good solid kick every day, right to the windshield.

Just like you kick me? ;_;

If you would ever get pregnant, I would stop kicking you.
Also, recommend me some good relatively inexpensive headphones that resemble these ones that broke (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SBC-HS520-Headphones-behind-the-neck/dp/B000E9UAA2).
I hate earbuds, for the record.
Besides the ones you had, i don't know what else.
In-ear ones are great, if you can get them to fit properly; I have to use the smallest ones that came with my Zune, and the left one still barely fits in >_>

Had some like that, and they hurt my ears having them in for a while.

Thought i was the only one that noticed that. Got used to it though.

why, because they're uncomfortable or because of the sound quality?
Bose earbuds are neither ^_^
And don't get rid of those, Rio, it seems as though you stumbled upon a weird way of getting audio samples :O
the earbuds that came with my nano don't fit my ears. they're really awkward and fall out most of the time

You would get almost the same effect by removing the vocals with Audacity.
Some songs, though, like Is It Any Wonder? by Keane remove the vocals entirely except for one line.

Because we definitely have $100 to blow on overrated headphones, right?

lol what are $30 sennheiser headphones (http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-202-Headphones/dp/B000065BP9/ref=pd_ybh_1?pf_rd_p=280800601&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_t=1501&pf_rd_i=ybh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=11AEHJWHYQE8PHWW35FP)
I put on some Bose headphones in Best Buy, I felt deaf, I couldn't hear anything outside of the headphones.
I hate earbuds. Ordinary headphones are better, period.

Seriously. The earbuds I've used, audio quality is barely decent, and they hurt even when I put them in.
it has something to do with the right ear thing and the left ear thing. some sounds come out of both, but some sounds come out of only one of them. and on different songs, the ear thing a caertain sounds comes from will be different. e.i. vocals on ob-la-de ob-la-da come out of the right ear thing, while on other songs background singers come out of the right ear thing.
it might be that your ear things mix both the right and left sounds before actually making the sound, but still have left and right sounds. in other words, if it worked properly, all sounds would come out of both ear things, but if the left sound was messed up, it would still be heard evenly in both ear things, but it's only playing the right sound.

That's what they're meant for. Ever seen the commercials?
"Bose headphones were originally used for Airplane Pilots to keep their attention to piloting, but they found use outside of there jobs with them blahblahblah"
