Title: I don't think I've ever restarted my computer that many times in a row O_o
Post by: Kilroy on April 28, 2008, 07:38:54 PM
Alright, last night, Windows said "lol update plz". So I was like "lol k update". That took like, a half an hour, 11 updates. One Restart.

After that, Java popped up and said "HEY LOOK OVER HERE I CAN UPDATE LOL". I responded "dude stfu just update". That took around 10 minutes, another restart. Two Restarts.

After that restart, Windows said "dude i rly suk and i couldn't install wun update". "dude wtf u suk update". I also installed three optional updates along with that. That took like 15 minutes. Three Restarts

Then, one of my friends IM'd me telling me how to get rid of User Account Control in Vista (You know, the thing that pops up with like half the programs and says DUDE THIS CAN HARM YOUR COMPUTER), which required a restart. That took 10 minutes. Four Restarts

Yeah, 4 restarts, and hour of updating/making my computer bettar. I finally went to bed at Midnight. I really don't understand why A. An update failed and B. Why it's so annoying to turn off User Account Control.

Nah.

It's my laptop that I am too lazy to upgrade except for the Firewall and Spyware protection.

Why didn't you just press the option that says "Restart Later"?

That happened the other day with me, too!

God, the computer took forever to do one little thing, so we killed it.  Didn't bother restarting or shutting down or any of that.  Because it took over 10 minutes to do one little, tiny thing.  Just pressed and held the power button down.  Oh, why must so many updates clog up the computer at one time?

On my other computer, XP had to update.  It took about 20 hours to complete this one update before the computer finally shut down.  So I think I win.

PEOPLE.

I'm not TALKING about start up time. All of that was because of updates.

My computer takes less than a minute to boot up, too. Even less with Hibernate, which surprises me.
