Title: It's time for some good old-fashioned speculation!

What do you make of this ad for the July issue of Nintendo Power?

It's probably either Majora's Mask or Earthbound. Probably the former.

So, any guesses?

Majora's Mask on VC. They wouldn't remake a game that sold very well on the N64 just yet, and I know Nintendo won't put Earthbound on the VC.

That would be awesome.

I see someone casting a spell while holding a fan, by the way.

Even though it was #1 in a list of user wanted games?

When has Nintendo ever cared about what the user's wanted?

Oh, right, I forgot about how they got rid of friend codes, there was voice chat in Mario Kart Wii, and how their E3 2007 was full of hardcore games.

I wish they would release Majora's Mask for VC, I would buy it as soon as it came out.

Talk about talent wasted on a tech demo with a bathroom scale....

How hard is it to upload one game to a server anyway? It's not like they are re-releasing it.

Maybe they have to make sure it doesn't crash like the Gamecube version did.

I was talking about Earthbound, but it works either way.

Oh boy, I just found out that the VC poll is happening every month.  :) Well, time to send in another Majora's Mask/SMRPG/Earthbound/Chrono Trigger/MOTHER list....

I don't see where you're getting Mother out of this, especially considering that the "moon" in the Mother logo ISN'T THE MOON.

I love EarthBound as much as the next guy, but I'm not so fanatical that I confuse one orb for another so easily. They're pretty darn different.

Unless...of course, they were using the new version of the logo that the Smash Bros. series has been using. That version seems to be the same logo, only turned on its side so that it does indeed look more like this particular image of the moon.

Regardless, I think this is just a picture of the moon, and nothing else. Could be Moon...Harvest Moon...who knows, really?

Like I said, it looks no different than the usual picture of the moon. Harvest Moon's title refers to the moon during a certain time of the year...when it's orange.

How does that not make sense? They crank out Harvest Moon games all the time. It could be just another half-assed one of those games.

But we really don't know.

Yeah, I'm not going to bother taking any "clues" seriously, we'll find out what the surprise (lame or otherwise) will be in a month anyway.

I see Ness in the moon.

See?

I can see his eyes and his baseball cap.
It is amazing what people will see when they really want something. Look, I see Elvis.

Nvm, they just upped the contrast.

I was wrong, I guess.

You are correct, Mack.  :(

If you have nothing to add to this, I will lock.

It still looks like they didn't change anything. They just brightened some spots and left others the same.
It looks different to me....

I see a feature on the orange moon that I do not see on the normal moon.
They rotated it.

That too.

I'm really sick of arguing over something that can't be proven either way and is completely subjective to what we want to see.

So, on that note, I'll leave the thread with this: I would love another Mother game or a US version of Mother 3 (or 1+2) just as much as the next guy. But I'm not getting my hopes up for anything at this point. Hindsight is 20/20, so when the announcement is made, one of you might say "I KNEW IT," but until we know for sure, this is pointless.

Seriously, WHAT is this moon trying to tell us?

Both Moon and Harvest Moon have already had articles.

All they did was rotate the moon and add some contrast to some spots.

One more ZOMG TEH CLOWDS post and I lock.

I still hope it is Ness, though....

Even though it was #1 in a list of user wanted games?

When has Nintendo ever cared about what the user's wanted?

Oh, right, I forgot about how they got rid of friend codes, there was voice chat in Mario Kart Wii, and how their E3 2007 was full of hardcore games.
Wait... Did any of that actually happen?

Sarcasm.

They only showed Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii at E3 2007.

One chance.

Say something that is relevant to guessing what is in the moon.

Well, in reality no matter what only the person who finds the image can see it.
Like Gandalf.
I personally think that there are subtle changes you guys are passing off as nothing, but im not up to looking right now.

Just like how in the clouds some could see things others couldn't.

You're know they're doing it just to annoy the "readers" of the magazine.
NP always says crap like this and it's either junk real gamers already knew or it's so anti-climactic no one cares.
I mean, when has NP ever actually REPORTED anything? They're basically a big ad for Nintendo.
If I HAD to guess, Majora's Mask on VC or some new DS game no one is going to care about.
