Title: What do you consider the BEST third party game of all time?

And this includes 1st or 2nd party games that were partialy made by a 3rd party company, like some of the Zelda games, partialy worked on by Capcom.

However, this does NOT include 3rd party companies making games for thier OWN system. Example: Sega is a 3rd party company. Sonic is a 3rd party game. However, sonic is 1st party on Sega's own systems.

Considering those, there are a LOT of incredibly awesome 3rd party games, such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Jet Grind Radio, Halo (Counts due to Halo DS, despite the fact that it was canceled.), etc.

To me, Marvel vs. Capcom pulls in just a TAD above Jet Grind Radio. JGR was epic, but MvC2 was just a bit more epic. ;D

While Capcom has more great games than Rare, Rare still has my favorite third party game, which is of course Banjo-Tooie.

Paper Mario and Megaman 2 are currently tied.

Paper Mario gains more respect, in my opinion.

which is third party.

Best Series Ever.

Yes, but I like it so much it breaks boundaries.

AKA I don't freakin know because I have, mostly, first party games and the only 3rd party games I have are so good I don't know which one to choose. It's a tie between Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, all the .hack Games, Call of Duty 4, Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, and much much more.

I said Fire Emblem because it is always a good answer.
