Title: Green Tea
Post by: Johnny Ringo on October 01, 2007, 08:56:15 PM
I've recently prepared a package of Green Tea. It's been inside the cup for roughly twelve minutes. It has a semi-transluscent appearance and is incredibly hot. How exactly do I know when it's ready?

On a related note, who else here drinks tea and what brands do you drink?

I had green tea today.

And just touch the mug or whatever you drink it in. If it's at a suitable temperature drink it. I like mine not too hot but still hot. Oh and I suggest adding honey!

I love the stuff.

When it's done is up to you -- depends if you like it light, strong, etc. Generally letting it sit for about 10 minutes is good, although I like my green pretty strong... I also like to put honey and ginseng in it. Highly recommended. Never use sugar for sweetener, in every circumstance honey is better.

If I'm drinking green it's usually just any regular 100% green tea bag (they don't vary much), with the additives I mentioned. If it's not green, I usually drink Good Earth's Original (best flavor ever), Earl Grey + English Breakfast with some lemon, spiced Indian Chai, or this awesome Russian stuff I have that smells like a campfire.

Honey huh? I'd never thought of that, unfortunately I drank all our honey last month.

Russian Stuff, could you name any brands? I might want to try some.

The brand is generic, it's distributed by some organic tea company. It's called Russian Caravan, though... it's delicious.

Mmm, anyone ever heard of Constant Comment? I love the stuff. Plus, it's available in a green tea version...I happen to be having a cup of it right now.

Sobe Green Tea!!! The stuff is awesome!

I myself only make it at home about once a month. I don't really have too much time on my hands.
