PS3 came out. And I thought the main reason of making a whole new system is to force people to buy the new system to get the most current games. Why keep makin' PS2 games?
Because it has an install base of 100 million.
Um, this should belong in the Sony board. But the reason why they keep making PS2 games is because the PS3 isn't selling very well, and the PS2 is one of the top-selling consoles of all time (next to Wii and Xbox 360). I heard the PS2 will be dying sometime this year.
Because they realised that the PS3 was WAY too expensive, and so they thought they would release some games on a system that many people already have to increase profits. I mean, who would honestly buy a game for a system that is WAY out of your reach? I mean, buying a game for a not very expensive system that you don't have yet is understandable, but when the system is 600 dollars, it would be stupid. So, as I said before, they released games for a system that many people already have and isn't as expensive!

Yes, because many people have the 360!
Because PS2 game are cheaper to produce, and more people have a PS2.

Yes, because many people have the 360!
my point exactley!
That was a dumb move, Konami.
Who cares if it would have multiple discs...
I would buy a 360 for MGS4.
But not a PS3.
Too darn expensive. :\

All the new PS2 releases are 3rd party. Sony doesn't make them.

Haaaaa, picture this. A third party company comes up to Sony.
"We have an amazing new game for you, but it's on the PS2"
Sony: GTFU and give it to the Wii
well...the SNES came out in 1991 and the NES still got games until 1994, the SNES died in 1997, but the N64 came out in 1996, the DS came out in 2004 but the GBA only died in 2006 (or 2007)

Why bump an ancient thread?
it was on the front page
Bumping an ancient thread twice? Lucky I don't ban you for that.
