Title: What do you think of casual games?
Post by: Tupin on May 15, 2008, 02:11:58 PM
I like them, but as long as they are good and have replay value.

And they aren't just a tech demo with a bathroom scale.  :|

I wish most of them would burn in hell.

There are good ones, but you have to dig through the poop to find them.

Casual games need to stick to flash processors on the internet.
They're single handedly killing the Wii/DS in terms of credibility, and DESTROYING any hardcore hope for those two systems. Why bother spending lots of making GOOD QUALITY games like Okami and Zak and Wiki when they'll just be beat out in sales by *guh* Wii PLay, and *even more guh* CARNIVAL GAMES.
PLEASE SUPPORT ORIGIONAL IP's and DESTORY THE CASUAL FILTH!

Because they won't sell.

The only way a game like Zach and Wiki could beat the casual ones is if it cost like $15.

This is the first generation where I specifically remember developers being outlandish with their greed.

That's the point I was trying to make...
Both were great but their developers will never try to make sequels or games like them again cuz ppl are too busy shoveling down poop like Wii Play and other junk.
They're all being way too greedy. Unfortunatley EVERYONE is fallowing this suit. Even more unfortunatley, Nintendo is leading teh charge...
I can only pray F-Zero and the next either Zelda/Mario/Metroid are on the way soon X_X;;

HOW ABOUT ORIGINAL IPS?  :|

Or MOTHER, that would be awesome and shut everyone up for about half a year while Nintendo releases Mario Party 8-20.

I know....it's a pain in the ass.
Again, look at GOOD origional IP's (Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Zak and Wiki) and we won't get anymore thanks to idiot people buying nothing but shovelware crap like the yearly Mario Party and Madden.
And we do need more origional IP's. They're usually better than the other junk we get.

If they are games that are innovative and actually fun and not some cookie-cutter piece of crap that is just a tech demo or something like that, I like them a lot.

In fact, I'd rather play a casual game sometimes because I don't really allot enough time to gaming as I should...

They're at least OKAY for the most part, but developers really need to lay of the s*** made just to get a quick buck.

I seriously could CRAP out a game better than some of the stuff out there.

Um, that aside, I do agree, I don't mind them being out there, as long as they make better quality ones.

Really it depends. Third Party Devs should be working on "Hardcore" games, while more successful companies can work on making GOOD "casual" games.

Wiisports/play/fit/music is good

Carnival Games is ok...

Party Games = NO. Don't ever try again you crappy software company!

gaming was built on short 25 cent bursts, zero story lines, and limited graphics, so I'm all for it.
