Title: YESH. I think I found the right processor.
Post by: LinkXLR on May 26, 2008, 12:02:35 PM
...with the help of my dad of course.

The Intel? Core?2 Duo Processor E4700.

2.66 GHz

And I think it'll work. Only problem is getting it. I'll be paying around $150 anyway.

What motherboard do you have? If you don't know that, at least give me the model of your computer. Just because a processor physically fits into the motherboard doesn't mean it will be compatible.

I know. My dad wasn't sure it would work or not, which is why I said what I said.

What kind of processor do you currently have?
not just the speed. FSB and model

I dunno what FSB means, but it's an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2140

Front Side bus. Ditermines how fast it can run.
For example, a 3.0Ghz at 533mhz fsb would run slower than a 2.0Ghz cpu with an 800Mhz fsb.

That should be compatible, they're both socket 775.
