Have you used them? One of my friends refuses to, do you have a similar notion?
Back in Silver, I used mine on a Userang. :D
In LG, however, I haven't used either of the 2 that I have (Obtained through trade.), and I caught Mewtwo AND Entei without them. (Had a Dugtrio with Arena Trap, so yeah, that helped.)
I have like 10 from trades and GTS, but the only one I have used was for Mesprit. Just because I didn't feel like raising a Pokemon with Arena Trap or the move Block. I caught all the legendaries except Mesprit using Ultra Balls and Dusk Balls.
Using Master Balls kinda takes away from the fun of catching the legendaries yourself, you feel like you haven't accomplished anything if you do use them. But, I have nothing against anyone who uses them on all legends, I just chose not to because its more fun to catch them with regular balls :)
I do, what's the point in having it if you don't use it?
I usualy use it on the hardest/most_legendary pok?mon.
On Silver I used it on Ho-oh
Saphire & Emerald I used it on Rayquaza.
Leaf Green I used it on Mewtwo.
Pearl I think I used it on Palkia Cresselia because she's too hard to catch (she always runs).
I have 17.
Depends. I normally use them on runners that I reeeeeeeeeeeeally want.
I have mine except I'll use it on entei or mewtwo. maybe entei because he 's a coward to fight.
I've still got mine, and with no legends left... I'm just saving it, for that perfect opporitunity.
Like... the Arceus or Shaymin events, if those ever come. Well... not so much Shaymin. :P
RBY Series: I waited for Mewtwo.
GSC: Wasted it on a dog.
RSE: I attached it to a Castform I sent my brother. In Emerald, I'm preserving it.
Firered/Leafgreen: My brother used it on a Mewtwo.
Diamond/Pearl: I still have it, so I captured Dialga the hard way.

Which means you had Diamond not Pearl.

I meant for the game series as a whole.
I try my best not to use them.
I use them when I'm reseting for good natures and perfect ivs.
I always save it on the lvl 70s, but couldnt you get 2 in Diamond and Pearl?
and wasnt there a way to win them?

In almost every Pok?mon game you could get as many as possible due to the lottery, but every number has to match to get it if I'm not mistaken.
R/B/Y: I have, lets see, *digs out old GB cartridge and GBC system*, I have 319 total...sweet...
D/P; I think I have like....two....didn't use them.
I only use masterballs when i have catched the pokemon enough times to where it is just work,
of course i've caught mewto (blue) with a great ball,
There is one exception, for some reason i just don't even want to mess with palkia/dialga at spear pillar, (proabably because my pokemon are too embarrassingly weak to put up a good fight *cough*)

I NEVER remember to do that! In some of my games though, I've avoided certain legendaries or other stationary Pokemon so when I would have the patience and willfulness, I could try doing that.
And I just remembered, I MAY have used a Masterball on Rayquaza in either Ruby or Sapphire. I think I did.. just 'cause I was frustrated with using 50-100+ Ultra Balls on a Rayquaza in red health with a status effect or two, haha. But then I wouldn't save.. I'd just get the satisfaction of knowing it can be caught, and I can always give in if I really get tired of trying.. and then I would Ultra Ball it some more with the strategy I had goin' and eventually DID get it with an Ultra Ball.
It was probably.. yes.. I believe it was Groudon, in Ruby. I wasn't prepared AT ALL for that battle and I was getting obliterated. I didn't have a well-rounded team or one capable of weakening legendaries or anything really to a catchable point. My team was just soldiers sent forth to deal heavy and fast damage and if one falls, send another. Very little strategy for in-game stuff.. which hurt me at some points. Not enough variation. I believe I Masterball'd that and wasn't aware of Rayquaza until some time later and regretted.. maybe I didn't have a Masterball for Ray at all and just did my best until after a few weeks I got it.
I'm a little out of it and this was years ago so yeah. =/
I think I used Masterball on Mesprit and Cresselia.

This is true, so try to trade as much as possible with other people, as it will use the numbers of the trainerID on the pokemon in the lottery.

So that's how my friend did it. :O
