Title: Would an HD-DVD drive be able to play DVD's?

Specifically, XBox 360 games? :P

My XBox has had a problem with the disc tray for a while, so I was just gonna buy an HD-DVD drive. BUT, I dunno if it could play games.

Probably not... Unless you'd end up with a slower data rate because of the USB.

No, the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive cannot play 360 games.

look at the bright side...you can still play saved XBLA games on it...right?

wait. do 360's have a pin hole near the disc drive like computer disc drives do? If it does you can open it by shoving a paper clip in it.

You can take off the faceplate. I can get a picture if I can find my parents camera.

I'm pretty sure the drive is behind the metal casing of the 360 itself.
