Title: Ubisoft, what is wrong with you?
Post by: Tupin on May 30, 2008, 07:36:16 PM

The person who run the Ubisoft forums and is also a pretty important person when it comes to development basically made a several paragraph long rant on how if you bought the Wii, you should expect alternative games/casual games more than anything else because that is what sells on the system. He also said these memorable quotes:

"Why else would games like Brain Training/Wii Fit/Mario Party sell in the millions if people wanted hardcore games?"

Because good advertising can sell anything, no matter if it is good or bad.

"All I have seen is various forums doing childish Photoshop screens, at least wait to see the game face to face before turning it into a humorous gif."

Quit treating the Wii and DS like a joke, and they will.

Jeez. That's why the PS3/360 are getting Beyond Good and Evil 2 while the Wii is getting more Rabbid minigame collections.  :|

If Nintendo made a console with some power I might actually be mad at this.

That reminds me, a Nintendo rep kept saying that you can just delete games and redownload them as no one takes up the whole memory in the same interview where he said that there are at least 100 WiiWare games in development.

Does the Xbox 360 do things like that.

The Xbox 360 has a huge harddrive.

There's no need to delete games.

Since when does the flash/hard drive memory in a console count towards the power of it?

I'm guessing that you are being pro Nintendo there.

Demos, Games, Patches and extra content. Note that the 360 has the largest available memory space this gen at 120GB.

Also, try using question marks when you type a question, please.

I have to admit, it's pretty sad that dev's are taking the Wii so jokingly. I might still be playing it daily if there were better games for it.

They do have No More Heroes but guess what?

They didn't make it, they just translated/published it.

Ubisoft didn't even advertise it.  :|

The only reason I still play mine is because that bastard still hasn't gotten me my Controller and Power Brick for my 360. It's been almost a month since I bought that. The 360 is still sitting there teasing me ;-;.

I'm not blaming Nintendo, I am blaming Ubisoft.

I wouldn't be complaining if they gave Nintendo systems a wide variety of games.

But as it stands, all they release is ports and Nintendogs-rip offs on Wii and DS.

I read the whole article, BTW.

Let me sum it up for you:

In order for a company to make a good casual game, they need to study the concept of flight rather than the wings.
