Title: A Question About Chrono Trigger

I just played this for the first time. (On an Emulator) It's awesome so far, but I died when I was at about level 4 in EXP and hadn't saved. I'm just wondering; do you have to reach a certain point to be able to save? (Much like FF)

Because where I was at it wouldn't let me save yet.

I think there are Save Points in the game, but I also think you can save outside.

That's what I thought. I'm just about to play it again so I'll find out. I just didn't want to do the beginning over again earlier but I'm up to it now.
