You idiots realize that not too long ago, there was only one phone company? The government finally decided this was a bad thing (took them a good 50 some odd years, but our government has never been one that is quick to act, unless that is to invade some places) so I doubt that we'll be seeing any phone company monopolies arising soon. It how the business world works. If you're company cannot keep up with the rest of the pack, you eventually get bought out. However we will always have at the very least two phone companies. The government will see to that.
