yes, 2D Metroids are the best
Yeah. 2D Metroids are the best in the series.
I would like to see a 2D Metroid on the Wii, actually.
Of course. Even during the prime series, 2 2-D games were released, namely Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission.
The next games to be 2-D will be most likely either a remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus or Metroid 5/ Metroid Dread.
Yeah, we could use more 2-D goodness. Metroid Prime was a good translation to 3-D and all, but we could use more 2-D also.
Ya, the 2D ones were awesome!
I'd like to see a remake of Metroid 2, or a sequel to Metroid Fusion.
Yes.
This time, no computer that tells you what to do.
Fusion could have been better than SM if it didn't tell you where to go, or just not have the computer.
Duh, explaining more about Adam and Samus.
yeah, maybe an enhanced remake of Metroid II with 3D characters on a 2D plane.
They better be working their asses on a new 2D one right now.
2D metroid games are awesome, there aren't enough 2D shooters =/

I can explain it better than that picture! :P 2.5D is a 3D game but you still move from side to side. Brawl would be a 2.5D game. ;)
