Title: Hey, I'm looking for a gaming mic.
Post by: LinkXLR on June 06, 2008, 05:25:05 PM
I need suggestions since my old one was a piece of crap.

It just needs to limit to this:
-Less than $75
-Not a headset. I hate headsets.
-Good quality.

Any recommendations?

Stuff like that is good, and standard.

I'm looking for one too.

But probably for different reasons. I'm looking to buy one to record my voice when I'm recording the games I play. Your reason?

Probably for communication, he plays TF2 without a mic.

Use the Rock Band mic with a basic stand if you have it.

Ive heard good things about this one:

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=Xbox+360+Mic&cid=18432680934355751796 (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=Xbox+360+Mic&cid=18432680934355751796)

Xbox Live isn't that bad.

It never hurts to try things before you make fun of it.  ;)

No, I'm sure it's great.

But I already paid for the console. I paid for it's ability to go online and play with other people. I paid for that piece of property. I OWN IT. Why should I still have to pay for one of the major features?

Plus, if you can't get ethernet hooked up to it anyways, you have to pay ANOTHER hundred bucks for a wi-fi adapter! It's ridiculous.

Hey, if the people against net neutrality have their way, people who play PC online games will be doing that exact thing.

what?

And also, don't most computers come with wi-fi adapters free now?

And most games now have free online on computers, AND most consoles. (At least the ones I've played)
So what's the point of paying at all?

If you had Xbox Live, you'd know you get more than your money's worth of 50 bucks a year :|

I play Warcraft III online for free. It's worth at least 10$/Month for how great Battle.net is to Blizzard and it's community. I get poop for 50 bucks a year on XBL.

The community is horrid, it's not easy to get used to, the message system is crap, etc.

Why is PS3's online free and twice as good?

Took me about a week.

Took me less than an hour to figure every aspect of Warcraft III's online.

I looked EVERYWHERE for my status message on XBL, evidently I'm "away" for some reason.

I really didn't find it simple.

And also, really, get Rock Band if you have a 360 and use the mic. No loss there :x
