Title: Has Nsider affected your life?
Post by: SkyMyl on June 08, 2008, 09:58:13 AM
In any way, has Nsider and/or Nsider forums affected your life in any way? Has it helped your normal life? Has it shown you games you didn't know about? Books? Online sites? Well has Nsider influenced your life in any way possible?

My life has changed, in a manner of speaking. In my experience, I have learned over thirty things I did not know. I've become a better person, socially, in real life.

I've learned about things I would have never known about. I also know what my limitations are in real life and on the internet. :-\ Lastly I now know never to buy another ipod and to get a Zune ASAP>.<

My purpose, originally, for Oldsider and whatnot was to get help writing reviews, which did occur. Oh, and to discuss Smash, but I have become a way better writer since last May, which is awesome. I now staff an actual website, too.

It improved my typing speed by a lot.

Granted, I still hunt and peck, but it is much faster and I can type in the dark.

And I FINALLY found people that I can play with online.

Introduced me to forums and led me to branch out and met a lot of people.  As much as I hated the place, it led to me learning everything I know about the internet right now.

Definitely.

Before Nsider, I rarely went on the computer.  I met new people, made a lot of friends that I wouldn't trade for the world. <3333
Also learned a lot of stuff about computers that I never knew before.

And now, it'll be a miracle if you can get me away from the computer.

A little bit.
I know a tad more about computers, I learn about new games and stuff faster than I normally would, found tons of cool fangames at another place that I play which caused me to download Game Maker(kinda suck at it still, but getting better :P), learned some internet lingo, and met some interesting people. :P

I can type faster. And when I'm writing things out, I have to pay attention to what I'm actually writing down, not what I'm thinking. I'll write "nao", "moar", etc. rather than their actual spellings -_-

Well, I can type MUUUUUUCH faster now (I type even faster than my dad who's a computer IT for the Fed. Gov. :D )
I have learned about many games I didn't know about and I have taken appreciation for more (before Nsider, I only know about Metroid Prime games, now I know about the entire Metroid series, and know the entire story, just as an example and testament to that.).
I feel I can handle social situations better (well, I can also attribute that to my speech class in 9th grade...).
I feel that I can joke around more and take more jokes now than before, too.

Wow.  Nsider has helped me out a lot...

About 99% of the stuff I like could be traced from a post on Oldsider or even here.  My taste in music, my love of anime and anything Japanese, and even my taste in humor.

Obviously, since I was motivated enough to open this site.
And I learned about some bands and stuff.
