After talking with a Pidgin user, I decided that Pidgin would be a great client to use. Some better things to quicken things up, such as a quick whois, but a lack of buttons makes this the perfect client for those of us that want something more than the Java client with the same commands. :3
Either way, I downloaded it knowing that the smilies wouldn't be quite as good. I couldn't tolerate this, so I set off on my own (with the help of a tutorial, of course) to bring the Lithium smilies we all know and love to Pidgin. It wasn't too easy since this is my first time messing with tar.gz files, but you guys shouldn't have a problem.
To install, start Pidgin and go to Tools --> Preferences and go to the Smiley Themes tab. Then, go down to "Add" and select the downloaded Lithium Smilies.tar.gz file.

Enjoy! :3
UPDATE TO v1.0.0.1: The smiley logo now appears correctly under the preferences instead of just being pure white.
UPDATE TO v1.0.0.2: :+o now shows up as :O.

CRAP, OOPS. I'll be patching to v1.0.0.2 also. The :+O smiley works but :+o does not. That will be an easy fix.

Alrighty then.
Thanks, I wanted a smiley pack like this, but I was too lazy to do it myself.

I have to admit, getting to understand tar.gz files sucks. D: But hey, at least now I'll know how easy they are once I use them for stuff in GIMP. :)
Oh, Byte, SUPERKOOL, one more thing. The last link I submitted was changed to ar.gz at FileFront and may have a few issues. It wasn't a patch, but a file name fix:
http://files.filefront.com/Lithium+Smilies+v1002targz/;10599289;/fileinfo.html
If yours says v1.0.0.2 in the folder, don't use it. Only use v1002. ;) Don't worry, everything should be smooth going after this! The only changes would be possible smiley add-ons or a separate pack containing the :robothappy:-based smilies.
What was the difference?

What was the difference?
The v1.0.0.2 name was uploaded to FileFront and somehow renamed ar.gz. :\ There's a chance that it wouldn't work. But, if it's working, no need to do anything then.
I don't get it...

That's a very easy fix. Rename ar.gz to tar.gz.

I know. But do you think that the average user would understand that? :D

Probably not.
