Title: A real ninja?
Post by: Ares300 on June 15, 2008, 09:37:44 PM
I've been wondering if Naruto is a real ninja. (Not real as in Our World real, but that he meets the standards of a ninja) Consider it, he wears an orange/black jacket that sticks out like a un-pointy shuriken, even down to his annoying catchphrase 'Believe it!". I thought ninjas were SUPPOSED to do unbelievable feats?

Whos more of a ninja......

this guy?

or this guy?

Ninjas are supposed to be stealthy.

Ryu Hayabusa is a ninja, not Naruto.

exactly my point.

There is nothing remotely stealthy about a puberty-challenged child who yells all the time, and gets by in life through pure luck.
Think Gray Fox.

Psh. Naruto is not a ninja.
The dude from Ninja Gaiden(sp) seems cool though. I need one of those games. D:

But this means Jack Sparrow isn't a pirate. ;_;

All we need to say is that Pirates are better than Ninjas and we'll leave it at that. :3

On topic, no. Naruto is a piece of poop covered with poopty voice overs. He isn't anything BUT that.

Gray Fox is awesome.

But so is Ryu.

Naruto on the other hand.......:|

Grey Fox and Ryu Hayabusa are stealthy and kill without a moments hesitation (except for when it serves plot purposes) and move without a sound and be stealthy.
Naruto can't take two steps without shouting something annoyingn in his brightly coloured not meant to be camoflauge jacket and useless weapons. I think the only real ninja in that entire show is Kakashi X_X;;

Gray Fox, is a ninja.
Ryu Habayusa, is a ninja.
Naruto isn't a ninja.

And for the record, Ninjas>Pirates. Ya got that?

Most ninja games suck, Narutards can go suck a dick, and Ninja Gaiden is the only decent ninja game.

Fun Fact: Did you know that most ninjas didn't not wear black cloaks, but instead wore average every day clothes to blend in?

I got this thing for Ninjas.

To answer your question, Naruto has his moments when he does Ninja-like things.

An orange jumpsuit is every-day clothes in Japan?

iirc, Japan isn't a prison island

I wasn't referring to Naruto, but his clothes look normal were he comes from.

I've seen a few episodes of Naruto. I don't remember anyone else with orange clothes.

"ONE DAY I WILL BE HOKAGE!!"

The original, prepubescent Naruto episodes do suck.
I got to admit, I kinda am hooked to Shippuden.
Not as much as WoW. >.>

And, no, Naruto isn't a real ninja.
Ninja are not real, they're like, fairies and unicorns.

I thought about this once.  I just said screw it, it'd just a lousy anime.

Maybe because he's the main character and has to stick out.

that sounds even better if you pronounce hokage as "hoak-age"

Who cares if Naruto is suppose to be a real Ninja or not.
It's a Japanese Anime for goodness sakes.
You expect everything Japan makes to be realistic all the time?

Sailor Moon much?
It's a fantasy after all.

Yah, I'm a fan of Naruto, but more of the Shippuden series. The current series is....
blah...

The problem is that Naruto is actually serious about the ninja thing.  I wouldn't mind a comedy anime where they make fun of ninjas, but Naruto is just fail.  Sorry.

True.  I guess I just have a strong bias against mainstream action shonen in general...I prefer either comedies, slice-of-life, or magical anime.

I have always been a fan of Sailor Moon.. a HUGE fan of DBZ (and DB and GT)...
And a few others. I just wish they still come on cause I missed so many of the good episodes! ;-;
Rourni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo, and Yu Yu Hakasho (gawed I want to see this series again).
I saw THE last episode and was completely lost.

And when the heck are they gonna show new episodes of Inuyasha for goodness sakes! >:(

hm, I probably would have gone that route if I continued to watch anime like Samurai Pizza Cats and Pok?mon, but I got seriously into anime by watching Lucky Star, so I suppose my tastes branched out from there (watching mostly mo?-styled anime).
