Title: Call of Duty-IN SPACE
Post by: Tupin on June 21, 2008, 11:38:22 AM
So after the Treyarch developed Call of Duty 5 comes out, what left for Call of Duty 6?

Apparently, Infinity Ward plans to take the series to space, focusing on the eventual future wars in space, which tells me it's gonna be a lot less realistic.

SPACE, Infinity Ward? Your creativity stuns me and everyone in the gaming community.  :O

This could be good, I hope it's more than just a rumor.

It sucks because it takes forever to reload, which is why there will never be a good Civil War game.

Muskets were still the weapon of choice.

Which is why I was hoping it would be part of the CoD series. It might somehow make it better.

It doesn't have to be realistic. I mean, sure, realism is what everyone seems to want nowadays. And if it isn't realism they want, it's the overuse of blood, gore, and rag doll physics.

Rag doll physics are awesome.

Maybe an alien invasion during the Civil War? Time traveling dictators would also make for a good plot.

Yes, but the average soldier didn't.

Muskets were standard issue.

Which is pretty stupid. Revolvers were useful at close range...

A WWII video game from the point of view of the Germans, Italians, and Japanese. >.>
That'd be cool.
But probably kind of immoral. D:

Everyone would say it'd suck because you lost in the end. That's why I hated Dead Rising's story. One, it simply sucked, and 2, the only ending where you didn't die didn't unlock Overtime mode ;-;

And also, it would be banned in the Axis' countries D:

Like making a game where the Manhattan Project was severely underfunded and in that time, the Axis manages to get their act together and create a nuclear bomb that they launch on New York using a ICBM that several Nazi supporters from the future give to the Axis via a time machine?

pendragon >_>

in the third book (the one about first earth) it's about the hindenburg.  the story was that there were people on the hindenburg that, if they had actually lived, would have put in motion events that would cause germany to get the first nuclear bomb, and in the year 3001, New York would still be toasted and impovershed.

Still, I think my idea would be a good way to spice up the World War II FPS genre.

Well, we're all sick of WW2, and everything before that sucks. We already got "Modern Warfare" so of course it'd be space next. Hey, it could be good. I mean Resistance worked just fine and that had spacey-alien stuff.
Better than "Call of Dute: The Revolutionary War" (where you get one bullet, shoot, then spend about 2 minutes to load another)
