Title: Masterpieces?
Post by: Java on June 24, 2008, 03:10:32 PM
What is your opinion on the Masterpieces in the game?

To me, they're just a worthless waste of memory. Yes, it's nice that I got to try out Ice Climber and play F-Zero, but when you only give me a chance to play 40 seconds of the game, I question Sakurai's sanity. Of course they're just there to advertise Virtual Console games and make you buy more. That being said, maybe I would have wanted to try out some games that I never got a chance to, that you let Japan play: EARTHBOUND and Fire Emblem. Of course we don't get it though as Nintendo of America obviously has no idea what this Earthbound is and wonders why it was even in the game to begin with.  :)

You know they put the whole games in with a set time so they are taking up a TON of memory.

Hence why I said a worthless waste of memory.

We could have gotten so much more from Brawl, but they really got lazy.

1. Waste of memory
2. I've beaten ALL of those games...
3. Earthbound and FE please
4. Of course Sakurai is lazy: LANDMASTA X 3!

It was a waste.

"Relive the past battles of Smash combatants!"

What about Ike, Marth, and Ness?

Many of the characters aren't even playable in their own games (Ganondorf, Zelda, Falco/Wolf (not Multiplayer), etc.)

Yeah, but if a character has a game that they are playable in, why wouldn't they put it in the Masterpiece section?

Eh, they're okay. It would've been better if we were given more time on them, but I have a better solution.

Scrap the Masterpieces and put the original SSB in its place. Everyone wins. Which is what Ninty doesn't want. :|

That makes more sense, but I would've just taken out all the masterpieces and spent the rest f my work on improving WiFi.

They were kinda pointless to me. The only one of those games I don't have are Kid Icarus and Ice Climbers. But I've already played Ice Climbers. They should've just not put the Masterpieces in, and put in something else/improve other stuff.

COUGHWIFICOUGH. :P

I personally, think Masterpieces were a great addition. Sure, we missed out on two, but they are great fun, and a nice diversion.

How do you enjoy them when they only give you 0:40 seconds to play a game.

How the hell do you do anything in F-Zero with only 0:40 seconds!

Yeah, its pretty hard. If you can get around the corners good enough, you can touch the finish line just as the game turns off. You barely even see the "2nd Lap" thing come up.

you can only beat one level in kirby, but in donkey kong i didn't even figure out theconrols before it shut off, 30 seconds? come on. if you unlock it it should be more than that, just trying to advertise some Vc games for more money
