All right, I was just curious today, and I ran across some interesting info... Apparently, there's some new Zelda game that is in the process of being developed. Not sure how many of you have heard about it, but I thought this sounded a bit interesting. Now, I'm aware that there's some speculation that this might not be real, but hey, E3's coming, and something might pop up there. So far, it's called Project Deluge, but it's not going to be the final title.
A picture I found.
By the picture, the final title might be Valley of the Flood. The setting is, what some people might call taboo to the series, steampunk, where Hyrule seems to have had some advances.
More info is here, in what appears to be a copy of an interview. (http://boards.ign.com/nintendo_wii_lobby/b8270/165626165/p1/?31)
What do you think? If this is real, I might give the game a try. Seems interesting enough.
I do not at all think this is real. I don't at all believe it. Of course, that is just my opinion.
On a side note, I've looked at that Title Screen over and over, and other than "Valley of the Flood," the title is a direct copy of the Twilight Princess logo.

Well, they've been basically using the same format for the logo for a while.

Take out the sword, and you have basically the same thing.
Edit: Wait, the Title Screen is fake. It was fan-art for some book.
I can't believe this now. Though, it does sounds ok. What made me laugh though was what was in the beginning: ...I convinced Iwata-san that your writers were trustworthy enough to keep our conversation here confidential until Project Deluge is announced at the expo... Then this was posted mid-June. Great.
Anyways, my thoughts on this is that I kidna don't like the idea of the "insane Link." I mean, it just doesn't seem right, like they're going away from the classic Link. No one has had a problem of that, have they? But I like the landscape idea. Making it larger and more "life like" I think they said.

Yeah, I agree with you, it doesn't sound all too real. Still, there's no telling until E3...

True, true. That'll be judgement day. *sigh* I just want it to come soon though.
The picture itself looks real. But I still have my doubts. I kinda hope it's real though.

I believe the interview was fake, but there is no proof if is or isn't as of yet, correct?

Yeah, there's no proof of the interview yet.
it looks a little more in the future then the other zelda games and the title sounds right it could explain wat is going to happen after wind waker and phanyom hour glass
I hope that's fake, a steampunk Hyrule would ruin the feel of Zelda
i would not really mind it being a little bit more high tech but i like the old zeldas being old but we just have to wait till E3
Holy poop! Ill bet this will be Twilight Princess's Majoras Mask :P
Real or not im going to look into this.
No steampunk plz.
If the real graphics look as good as that fake pic, i'll be happy :P
Doesn't seem real to me, but it looks good.
Woah. I think I'm on to something. In that interview, it says that the hero isn't Link. What if its Colin, or whatever that little kid's name was from Twilight Princess. :O I think it might be Colin. It says in the interview that it's a young boy. I'm almost sure it's going to be him if this is real. I just wish it would be real though. :( It seems to be a good direction for Zelda games, and this would make the split timeline theory make even more sense.

I didn't think of that. It's probably fake anyways.

Read bold
The bold is enough for me to pray this game is false.
I'm with Allegretto on this. Although a new main hero would be somewhat of a nice and refreshing change, many Zelda fans would go in an uproar if that were to happen. I don't think I would like the idea of a "steampunked" Hyrule, either. Just seems... out of character for what the Zelda series has been for decades.

Well, i dont give a poop what Zelda fans think. :P this series is getting popular enough to have someone new in the spotlight! Mario has done it from a long time ago, and Im sure fans didnt like it at first, but Its great now!

In the video it explains how I reacted to your response
Thunder, Mario has had diffrent hero's more than once however and fans come to expect that now. However The Legend of Zelda series has only ever had Link. To change tradition now would send the series to hell.
It's fake. That's a pic from an old scam about two years ago about a "modern" Zelda game.
Completely false... X_X;;

Wasn't Zelda the main protagonist in those two CD-i games? ::)
Either way, this is probably false.
The Wii has been out for what...2 years now? It's still too early for there even to be a chance of a new game. That is if Nintendo even releases a second full Zelda game on the Wii. Historically, it's usually one per system, minus the N64.

There were several for GCN though... 4 swords, Wind waker, the one with several old Zelda games, OoT: Master quest, twilight princess, and more I think...

Four Swords was mainly a remake of the GBA game, as well as all the others being remakes. WW was really the only original game made for the GCN. TP was pretty much released as a Wii game, and the GCN version being a port of that, even though the game was originally made for the GCN.
So no, there was only one Zelda title made for the GCN.

GCN: Wind Waker, Twilight princess
TP was originally going to be for GCN only.

Nintendo hyped it and focused on the Wii version. In the eyes of Nintendo, that is the "official" version of the game.
So yeah, this is very fake, even if there probably is a new Zelda for Wii being developed this year.
I'm guessing Nintendo wants to launch it with their next console and have a release on the previous one, kind of like with TP.

Let's take a look, shall we?
NES: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: Adventure of Link.
N64: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask.
GB: Link's Awakening, Link's Awakening DX.
GBC: Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons.
GBA: Link to the Past/Four Swords, Minish Cap.
Objections?

It's not a Zelda game, as it's a spin-off of Twilight Princess that has nothing to do with that actual game, story-wise/gameplay wise.
And Twilight Princess on the GCN and Wii has already been mentioned.
im pretty sure they are not going to release a new nintendo system any time soon
:| If im gonna think this is fake I will need proof of it's fakeness...
Wow, didn't expect this thread to still be alive... X_<
Anyway, like I've already said before, there's no way to actually tell until E3, and it's not too far away, so we just have to wait.
Isn't that a scene from one of the Final Fantasy games?
