Title: Not again, Nintendo Power.
Post by: Tupin on July 19, 2008, 02:17:53 PM
Instead of the many RPGs and adventure games that the preview of Nintendo Power COULD have been, we get this:

http://gonintendo.com/?p=49800 (http://gonintendo.com/?p=49800)

Kind of dissapointing, but to be expected of Nintendo Power these days.

Also, Sega. Cool it with announcing all these new games, how about you spend time polishing the games you already have, hmm?

Wait, they're already doing another game for the Wii with Sonic just when they're working on Unleashed and The Dark Brotherhood?

I actually thought that the preview last month looked like a sword behind the top of Sonic's head. I figured it was just the fact that I was a huge fan, but I was actually right. >_>

Just by this image, people on GoNintendo are already saying that Sonic Unleashed will fail.

I'm no hater but "Sega, you did screwed it after all."

Please, don't start a discussion because of this. -_-

I just figured out that this is a sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings.

*ahem*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

:(

At least there is Sonic Unleashed.

For a second there, I thought the title was The Dark Knight. XD

I hope this game fails miserably.

Sonic, quit trying to be Link and put the sword down.

The funny thing is that a Batman and Sonic game would probably be better than this will be.  :D

Something that will suck because they gave Sonic a weapon.

I don't even need to see the game to say that.

Aw, dangit.

This is gonna suck. Sonic, put the sword down and stick to speed.

Wow, they are combining the terrible on-rails segments of Sonic and the Secret Rings with the weapons of Shadow the Hedgehog.

Sega, if this is how you treat the Wii, just stop.

I would like to play another Alex Kidd game, just without the rock paper scissors style boss fights.

Ugh.

At least finish Unleashed, Sega. Focus on that game, and make it a good game. Don't just go, "NEW GAME GUYZ" mid-way.

Sega is saddening.

I don't really care if this game is bad as long as Unleashed is good. If sega can pull out a good sonic game this year, then I will regain faith in them.

NO SEGA, SONIC DOES NOT SWING SWORDS!
Sonic does NOT do generic platforming (as Sully Sonic seems to suggest)
Sonic does not do turn based fighting (althoug hte jury is still out in the RPG...it's not really Sonic's tastes)

I can already tell this is going to end badly.

I say either sell it to Nintendo or let Dimps keep doing it (Sonic Rush, and Rush Adventure). They did a good job, now Dimps gets nothing from SEGA...they're suffering from Nintendo complex

Keep in mind, Dimps is making the Wii version version of Sonic Unleashed and it looks like a Dreamcast game, or being generous, a GCN launch title.

The reason why The Dark Brotherhood will be good? Because Sonic Team isn't making it.

The best Sonic games in the past few years were made by companies other than Sega.

I wish Sega would bring back old franchises like Alex Kidd to give them a second chance.

You don't see Nintendo putting out three major Mario platformers in one year, do you?

They are drastically different from each other.

In other words, the 360 version is playable and looks like a 360 game, while the Wii version has terrible controls and looks like a GCN game.

and Sonic and the Black Knight (Wii)

Why SU for both systems? o.o
Because the level design for each of them is comepletely different. It will be like having 2 different games.

And I am expecting this Knight game to be made by a different company than Dimps, Sonic Team, or Bioware (I think it was). I am guessing the other Sonic team is developing this own, so dont say slow down if they have 4 different companies making 4 different games.

Too much Sonic...
this is the one major reason I'm fine with Nintendo not doing Mario games every year...or else it'll end up like this

Cool, I am going to buy 4 new Sonic games this year (unless this new one comes out 2009)

Sonic Unleashed (360)
Sonic unleashed (Wii)
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (DS)
and Sonic and the Black Knight (Wii)

Hell no. Square Enix would turn the game into a gay anime style game with more cutscenes than gameplay

Uh...what?

The early and very recent Final Fantasies(XII comes to mind)seem far from anime style, and actually have good gameplay.

Also, it's impossible for Sonic to become any gayer than it already is.

Ok, this game is the sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings:

http://wii.ign.com/articles/892/892291p1.html (http://wii.ign.com/articles/892/892291p1.html)

I dont think it has anything to do with sword fighting, but instead as a power to use like speed break and time break. So please stop assuming Sonic will be turned into a sword fighting game, speed will always be a main focus of Sonic.

A PLANET WHERE CLOUD EVOLVED FROM HEDGEHOGS? IT'S A MADHOUSE! A MADHOUSE!

Also, the Wii is sucking more and more by the day. Nintendo better bring out a AAA title soon, or I'm selling mine.

Just get third party games like No More Heroes and The Conduit when it comes out.

Plus, they are making Pikmin 3 and I'm assuming F-Zero Wii.

It's a sequel to Secret Rings, right? Now it is guaranteed to suck.

"Transporting Sonic back to an Arthurian medieval world, it arms Sonic with a sword to tackle his foes. "

Sounds like he'll use the sword for combat.

I disliked Secret Rings. Personally, I wasn't too big of a fan of the on-rails gameplay...and this, being a sequel, will probably bring that back.

Animal Crossing and F-Zero never appealed to me. It was always Mario, Zelda, and Metroid that did. But now that Nintendo has essentially clusterintercourse ed all three in favor of this casual junk, they're really ticking me off. At least there was always an announcement for one of the Big Three's games at any point during the GCN's lifespan.

Ugh, why does everyone hate the Wii?

Because Nintendo's games don't appeal to them anymore.

Animal Crossing and F-Zero never appealed to me. It was always Mario, Zelda, and Metroid that did. But now that Nintendo has essentially clusterf***ed all three in favor of this casual junk, they're really ticking me off. At least there was always an announcement for one of the Big Three's games at any point during the GCN's lifespan.

Fix'd
No More Heroes
The Conduit
Mad World
Megaman 9
Deadly Creatures
de Blob
Pikmin 3
Kid Icarus Wii (basically confirmed)
Pilotwings Wii
F-Zero Wii

None of that appeals to either of you?
The Conduit.
NMH looks okay.
All the N titles are gonna suck.
You also suck for not liking Pikmin.
Never played it.
It looked stupid and boring.

Edit. Don't suggest I buy it either, i'm broke.
Moral of the NP story: This is why I didn't renew after they said "or maybe it's mother 3". Subscription ended and I don't really care.

It's neither.

This game COULD turn out to be good, but that's what people said about Sonic 2006.
