So, we all know about Marth's side special attack, but which one do you use, and under which conditions is a certain move the best?
There are so many different combinations, but as far as I can tell, only the final two attacks have impact on the launch distance.
Also, are there any combinations you favor? I personally like the multijabs for when my opponent is low on damage, and I like the upper strike to try and finish them or launch them. The sideways swipe knocks them back more, but I find it's hard to kill them with just that move, and then they are too far away to combo immediately.
Even though I rarely use it, I like to try to use the multi slash.
I find the multi slash doesn't launch them as far, but although I'm not an avid Marth user, I'd say it's one of his better combo attacks and it's good for racking up damage.
It's usually random for me.
I mostly don't use his last sword dance special "down" ...just mostly forward.
I use all of them...
N - Neutral
D - Down
U - Up
Here are my usual combos and when I use them:
NNUD - Mainly my space maker, the U into the D flows nicely.
NUUN - Just to get the person off the stage, usually.
NUUU - Combo starter at lower percentages.
NDD - Only used in the air, the downward stab still retained some of its spiking ability (though it's minimal now...)

I never knew the down could be used as a spike in the air...guess it makes more sense now that I think of it...guess I'll have to try that sometime.
The fact I am not a big Marth player doesn't help. When I do play as Marth, that's a move I save as a distancer and finisher. NUUD (I think it is) tends to be what I go for, but more often than not, I just jam the buttons.
Honestly, every time I try to do something other than neutral I fail.
Then again, I never really use Marth.
