I'm going to my brother's house on Saturday and he has a Wii.
I was hoping that I could take some games, so we can play.
Let's say I want to take Mario Kart.
Since he doesn't have Mario Kart, he will have no characters/bikes unlocked.
I want to be able to play with the characters I unlocked, so can I take my SD card with my data and transfer it to his Wii? And if I can, how do I get the Wii to use the data on the SD card?
I'm not sure if that made sense, so if you don't get it, I'll try to explain again.
I don't think that's possible even though it should be. D:
I've tried it, and for some reason I can't get it to work.
You cannot copy Wi-Fi games to an SD card (but that would be your solution if you could). The only one you can is Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

Well that sucks. :(
Why didn't they just make a Wii memory card?

Because they cant hold music or pictures, and SD cards carry the most memory. There is, however, an awkward looking SD card made for Wii that goes around all of this. i forget what it's called but it costs $20 and they sell it at Wal-Mart

i don't know, because no one is buying it?
Wait, wait.
This is sort of a retarded question, but can I use game data at all on an SD card, in another person's Wii?
I just bought one and haven't tried it out, so I have no idea what it can do. Maybe I misread what was already posted here...

Well, here i will explain everything an SD card can do, and everything this "special" one mentioned above can do:
Normal SD Card:
-has to be 2 gigs or less
-Stores music and pictures from a PC if put in one
-Can hold channels and game files
-you cannot play the game directly from an SD card even on your own system. You must have it on your flash memory. To play the game on a friend's Wii, you must copy the copied file from the SD card to their Wii, but it will only work if they dont already have the game on there.
The special one:
-Everything above
-Can play directly from the SD card on any system. Pretty much a GC memory card AND an SD card at the same time.
Nope.
Sadly Wi-Fi games are the only games that cannot be copied unless if it's snapshots or vids, etc.
So, let's say I wanna play WarioWare (a non-wifi game), so I don't have to unlock Multiplayer, I take my SD card.
If the other person doesn't have the game, I have to copy my data to their Wii?

Yes...and if they do have it, then you cant, but I assume that they would already have gotten multiplayer if they had it.
and there actually is 3 games that have wi-fi that can be copied, but the Wi-i settings do not copy:
Dr. Mario Online Rx
My Pokemon Ranch
and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
All of these games are very new, and I think that Wi-Fi games from these games and out will be copyable.

Ahh...okay.
I noticed Mario & Sonic doesn't let you copy it's files, despite having a stupid excuse for Wi-Fi. >_>
Oh well, I didn't unlock much anyway, and I'll probably be playing his 360 more.

Well, ok. I hope I helped you better understand the cruel world of Wii SD cards! ;)
Yes.
Thank you very much. ^_^
