Do you think they will ever just... drop a series.
Like Zelda, or F-Zero.
I see Nintendo holding onto Mario until they die, but for others such as F-zero and Nintendo Wars I'm not so sure.
Nintendo has already given up on series like Pilotwings, Wave Race and MOTHER.
They would never give up Mario/Zelda, even if Miyamoto retires.
F-Zero will always be a secondary franchise, I doubt they will give it up.
darn.
I want a Mother 4....
but first. A mother 3 in english would be nice...

The creator already said he wasn't making a Mother 4, but someone else could.
Oh, and there is a fan translation.
I can see them dropping F-Zero maybe, but probably never Mario or Zelda.
The only thing I would care for if they dropped would be Metroid.
Not what I meant.
;_;
Nintendo Wars is pretty safe, actually. It is a series you can walk into with no knowledge of the previous titles, and they can always reinvent it, like in Battalion Wars. Mario and Zelda, even Pokemon, won't likely ever die. I can see FZero dying, but Nintendo will ultimately revive all their franchises, it is just a matter of time.
I doubt Mario or Zelda will be dropped. F-Zero might (sadly) get dropped. Metroid isn't as likely to get dropped, but there's always a slight risk. I just hope they don't drop anymore.
I can't see them dropping Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or Pokemon. F-Zero, maybe.
Something like Mario and Zelda would never end. They make too much money, and there's no point in ending them since each game, barring sequels, is a story in itself, like the Final Fantasy series. (As far as Zelda goes anyway.)
The only series' I could see being dropped are minor series like F-Zero and Kirby, if they stopped selling, or Star Fox.
They might drop a series of lesser importance like F-Zero, but i doubt they drop would drop Metroid, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, or Kirby.
The most popular one I see them dropping, is Pokemon....there is only so much....(unless they start all over....)
pokemon will never be dropped. thats their money machine right there.
metroid is currently droped, i think. at least i hope so. they need to rethink the series before making more metroid prime 3s. come back in 3 years.
Kirby will NEVER be dropped :3
Nintendo usually gives all their major series atleast one chance on each platform, but I'm starting to worry about F Zero and Starfox....
Probably not. They usually just give the less popular franchises long hiatus's until people start to care again like they did with Metroid.

1. Metroid Prime was supposed to be for the N64, but it took too long.
2. we always cared about Metroid.
Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Metroid and Pokemon. That is all.
They may try to merge DK with Mario, I mean, they're doing it now.
There's no way they'd drop Mario, he's their icon.
If they dropped Zelda I'd probably give up on Nintendo altogether.
Pokemon is one of those that keeps making them money... in my opinion it'd be stupid for them to drop that.
Mario - Main Icon + Money maker
Zelda - Adventure Franchise
Kirby - Casual franchise
Metroid - Shooter Franchise
DK/ Starfox / F Zero = No current projects, lets make a game
Pokemon = It prints money
I hope they hold on to Zelda until they die too! That would blow so much if they go rid of it.
