Title: How many people can play more than one instrument?
Post by: metroidhunter777 on July 29, 2008, 02:10:44 PM
I CAN!

I play trumpet (5 years), bass guitar and electric guitar (about two and seven months, respectively) and I could probably play drums if I had a set (rock band lol).

At the same time, though... I dunno.

Percussion and piano are primary instruments, I also dabble in guitar.

Euphonium, Piano, and voice :P., i used to know how to play a little bit of guitar, but i sort of forgot >_>
I'm probably going to learn drums soon, and (hopefully) trombone. Although i can think of a ton of other instruments that i want to learn...

I know a *little* on piano, which I improv most of the time, but I'm not formally educated. But what I do know is using the flat keys to make odd-sounding melodies.

Also, about 2-4 months worth of off-and-on drums, but my uncle, who's been playing nearly his whole life, has told me that the progress I've made in said time is more than a lot make in a few years, just starting out. So, he's reassured me by the end of the year, or a month or two into next, I'll be ready to, if I desired, play in a band, if it keeps up. So, shur, drums.

Also, I have the rudiments down. Yeah, all 40. ._.

And just to say it, drums are fun to bang on, sure, and they're a slight reflection of the real thing in Rock Band, but playing drums in Rock Band =/= playing drums in real life. Really.

MH, if you were ever interested in realistically drumming, you'd need to learn rudiments, which are super-important.

Pish posh. If I can memorize my marching band music by September and some, I could certainly learn and memorize 40 rudiments if I ever got a set. Scales are to musical instruments as rudiments are to rhythm instruments, I'd assume? You can use half of the sticking techniques on Rock Band, anyways (try a paradiddle next time you are stopped my a super epic fill, or double stick, it works).

Also, I played on my friend's set, which went pretty well, a little while back. I just need to try on a... not poopty one?
