Protein named after Pikachu. Weird. Anything else named after fictional characters you can think of? I believe there is a "Truman Show" Disease as well, but that's as far as I can think. *Discuss*

I thought of Electric Soldier Porygon as soon as I saw that article.  :D

There's a gene named Sonic Hedgehog, I think.

Protein, and it's a very important one, at that. A gene called Zbtb7 was previously known as the POKEMON (POK Erythroid Mylenoid ONcogenic Factor) gene, but being that it's a potential master switch gene for cancer, Nintendo threatened to sue them, so they changed the name.

Sad? It's sad that Nintendo doesn't want their product associated with a cause of caner?

OMG ARE YOU GONNA BE OKAY?

I dunno about characters, but there are some flowers named after rock albums. There's an "Electric Ladyland" orchid.
