Title: Thank You Yahtzee for proving my point
Post by: Nayrman on July 30, 2008, 01:28:37 PM

Basically this video shows a lot of opinions from this E3. Of course it doesn't go over everything (no LittleBig Planet mention or Resistance 2) but it covers a lot of my gripes about pretty much everything.
Agree or disagree!?

To sum it up:

-E3 2008 sucked.
-Nintendo sucked because they gave us stuff that we expected the Wii to be in 2006.
-Sony/Microsoft are just copycats.
-Sega is hopeless and should just die.
-There's no originality in games anymore.
-Trailers are not a good way to judge a game.
-Yahtzee STILL hates Japanese RPGs.
-2008 will suck for games compared to 2007.

I agree with most of that. I'll wait until I play the game to say I like it. ESPECIALLY with companies like Sega and Nintendo.

That's basically what he said when he went over how many sequels there were at E3.

For the most part, it is true with a few exceptions.

Don't forget de Blob.

I need all four of those games now, even though my brother is taking his PS3 to college.

Which sucks, because LBP is one of my most wanted games.

I automatically thought of the game when I clicked this thread.  Also, would Mirror's Edge be considered original?

Yes, it could be.

About time they make a game with Parkour in it.

Not enough though X_X;;
Not to mention they probably won't sell well because ZOMG MARIO ISN"T IN IT!
Go MadWorld, Go De Blob, Go Conduit. I'm buying all three and Wario Land...just because Wario Land rules...Nintendo needs to do more Wario Lands...

It was awesome. They always have the most unique puzzles like the zombie floor puzzle in most Wario Lands. Those are always fun and a good challenge. Sadly Nintendo only brings Wario out for the spastic ADD causing microgames. I wants more Wario Lands...they're so good... At least we get a Wii one.

I'll be blunt, I didn't watch the vid, and have no intention to. All it is is straight out bullpoop, judging by a certain SIT's post. Everything said could easily be contradicted, and I am under the opinion the majority of you are nutjobs or forlorn fanatics.

Uh...most of it is actually kinda true. Besides the origionality (half true) and SEGA failing (they only fail at Sonic games) the rest is pretty true X_X;;

Yeah, Yahtzee is getting old.

To date, I can only remember him liking three games:

Orange Box, Painkiller and Psychonauts. He's done like 15/20 other reviews (of which I've watched every one) and every game other than those three he absolutely HATES.

He's a major cynic, and isn't really supposed to be taken seriously.

I thought that was hilarious, but...I think there's a bit more hope than he illustrates.  But that's always the case with Yahtzee so meh :P

Why bash Yahtzee?
Take it with a grain of salt and just think about what he says.
Is it overly harsh? Yes...

But do you want the reverse?
Overly hyped hope filled buckets of lies?
I watch it for the comedy, just come up with your own views. D:

...what? If you listen carefully, he'll state things in the games that he does like; he just spends more time on the bad points because that's the premise of his reviews. Quite frankly, he's one of the few reviewers out there that has it right these days--after E3 '08, I have to be cynical about the gaming market.

You have a right to be cynical about the gaming market.

Even I'M a little cynical after seeing E3 2008. That had to be the worst E3 ever. Even E3 2007 was better.

FFS watch it, Yahtzee has a way with words that will make you laugh, in a good way.
