How come in games, when you have to collect something, there's almost always 7 of them?
Exs:
Sonic:
7 Chaos Emeralds
7 Other Emeralds
7 Secret Rings
Paper Mario/Mario RPG:
7 Stars
7 Star Sprites
7 Crystal Stars
I'm sure there's others but I don't remember them right now...
So why 7? Why not 6, or 8, or 11, or SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
Seven is considered to be a lucky number. It's also one of the more holy numbers in Christianity, IIRC it's the most holy, but I could be wrong. It's got a lot of positive stuff associated with it, plus it's a good number as it's long, but not too long like eleven.
It's long enough to make a game last longer but not long enough for it to be annoyingly tedius
I dunno. I think of it as an odd number that's not too high, but not too low. Also, I was thinking of this myself.
I already addressed this in a thread I made about 5 months ago.
777 is gods number and so there has been three 7s in the games so i dont know
Luck
Holy
7 Pieces of the Triforce (Ex)
It's a lucky chain. Who are they to break tradition?
It's a lucky/holy number, like everyone has said.

I thought it was "333" :robotindifferent: .
Well, I'm not sure why it's always 7. But I"m glad, 7 is my "favorite Number".

Didn't Sonic have only 6 emeralds at one point? Or am I just thinking of something else.
7 is considering lucky, I guess. Plus, for RPGs, 7 things is used a lot because it's a good length for those types of games, I suppose.
7 is a good number. You can always have 7 chapters and a finale, or 7 chapters and 1 final chapter.

Yes, For Sega Genesis ... "Sonic 1" a.k.a. Sonic the Hedgehog.
There were only 6 of them in the game, thus being the reason why you couldn't turn into Super Sonic.
