Title: SSBB official strategy guide
Post by: tibar21 on August 06, 2008, 11:01:40 AM
i know this is kind of late and random, but has anyone seen the official strategy guide for brawl. it reccommends the cheapest and most wussiest tactics i've ever seen. for instance, they said when you're fox you should just keep your distance and shoot with your gun constantly until your opponent is at high damage and then try to KO them with a smash. i would hate to face someone like that. that takes away all the fun. i wonder who wrote that thing.

They also said Wario and Meta Knight are some of the worst characters in the game and that Captain Falcon is the best. I suggest you don't listen to them :P

Advanced tactics time! Use Wario's poke over and over and over!

to me metaknight is very frustrating to face because when he uses his B and side B it stuns you and damages you and his attacks are very hard to dodge or counter. he's not broken though. its hard to KO with. when i hear broken the first thing that comes to mind is Ike. whatever. that strategy guide is 99% bulls**t when it comes to the character strategies.

Heh...

Metanight is the best and most broken character in the game period.
He's so broken, they actually had to ban some of his techniques.

Wait, "official" as in Nintendo produced?

If so, then Nintendo needs to play their games more often :|

for casual gamers like me Ike is the most broken character. you guys only think of meta knight as a broken character cuz you use all of these stupid little techs. Based on my experience, Ike is the easiest character in the game to be good with. all of his moves are powerful and have a lot of knock back. besides, you can't just say a certain characters sucks. When it come to sucking, it depends on the skill of the person using the character. Unfortunately that's not the case with characters being broken.

Ike is broken in casual play? Sonic and Meta = easy dodging and attacks against Ike...
A lot of Meta's moves isn't even the techs at times, it's the fact that his moves are so quick and have such high priority (espeically his B and side B attacks).

i meant the player themself can control whether the character they're using sucks. But they can't control if the character is broken. Meta Knight's moves are rapid and hard to dodge, but a lot of characters are like that too. and don't call me a retard you idiot.

name another character that's as broken as that. Ike has nothing that makes him even close to broken.

The guide is retarted, and a perfect example is it's Pikachu profile:  it says "Pikachu is one of the fastest characters in the game," "Pikachu's upward smash is very effective at KO'ing an opponent," "Skull Bash is extremely powerful," "Pikachu is also one of the few characters that can jump of walls," and "It takes a bit of work to master Pikachu's unique attacks, but once you have them down, it can be difficult to handle for many characters."  Sounds pretty good, right?  Well, then you check out the overall rating they gave him:  5 out of 10.  WTH??
Also, "Fox has a lot more variety with his special moves than Falco or Wolf."  What??  Have they played the game???  Plus there's the fact that Diddy Kong, Falco, Fox, Captain Falcon, and Sonic are all 10/10 speed.  Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Sonic just a bit faster than Diddy Kong?  :|

Yep. Meta Knight can disappear for an infinite amount of time, or until the player's hands get tired at any rate. No one can hit him, he's just not there.

that's what i was talking about when i said meta knight's mostly broken because of special techs like that. casual gamers don't do that kind of thing, that's why more casual gamers will say Ike is broken.

i'm not uneducated, i'm a casual gamer that doesn't rely on techs. Ike can kill at 30% in an average sized stage. there's no way you can say that Ike isn't broken.

The only problem is that that move is incredibly easy to avoid, as are most of Ike's moves.
You can easily just roll behind him and counter attack, then watch as he struggles to return to the stage :P
