Why? Because Yu Suzuki, the man who made Virtua Cop, Outrun, Virtua Fighter and most notably, Shenmue, has left Sega for good.

Abandon all hopes for a new Shenmue everyone, if you ever had them. :'(

Hey, maybe Nintendo will hire him or something...
Umm, he's not employed there anymore, but it said they're still working with him. I think it's like how Sakurai quit HAL but he still made Brawl.
Hey, he didnt die did he? No, he didnt, so he can still make games
Uh, but the Virtua Fighter series is terrible.
But Shenmue is pretty cool if you actually have the patience of for it.

I have DoA2 on the Dreamcast and it's a good fighter. Not amazing, but it's pretty to look at and is moderately fun, although the story mode is poop.
I have Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn and it's one of the worst games I've ever intercourse ing played. Every jump takes like 20 seconds to complete because the gravity effect makes you look like you're on the moon. There's no combos. The moves are slow as hell. Everything is hideous.
I'm aware of the technical differences of the Saturn and the Dreamcast, but that's no excuse for Virtua Fighter 2 being A COMPLETE PIECE OF SHIT.

You think the Saturn version is poop? Play the the Genesis version. It's a really, really bad 2D sprite based fighter and the gravity effect is even worse.
Still, it basically was the very first 3D fighting game.

So I've heard. I just wish that the supposed "best version of the game" could've actually been...decent.
And even if it was the first, I don't think that's really worth glamorizing. It's still a terrible game, no matter what revolution it started.

Yeah, the only game in the series I really like is Virtua Fighter 5.
They only made 3D games to compete, the Saturn really wasn't built to run games entirely in 3D.

Yeah, but the Saturn does 2D in such beauty that it makes me tear up.
The only 3D Saturn games I have besides VF2 are Panzer Dragoon Zwei and NiGHTS. Even if the 3D isn't too great in either game, they're still really fun. The graphics are especially laughable in Panzer Dragoon Zwei, where the enemies just look like randomly slapped-together polygons.
